Key Responsibilities:Project Delivery & ExecutionLead cross-functional, small-to-medium scale technical projects and/or workstreams within broader programsDevelop and manage project plans, schedules, dependencies, risks, and budgetsEnsure alignment with quality, compliance, validation, and regulatory requirementsTrack execution progress and escalate risks/issues appropriatelyStakeholder ManagementPartner with R&D business and IT stakeholders to ensure clear alignment on scope, timelines, and deliverablesProvide clear and consistent project updates to stakeholdersSupport decision-making by identifying risks, trade-offs, and mitigation optionsDelivery & MethodologyApply PMP-aligned practices across planning, execution, and monitoringLeverage Agile and Waterfall methodologies, tailoring approach based on project needsContribute to adoption of standard tools, templates, and governance practicesAI-Enabled DeliveryUtilize AI tools and automation (where available) to enhance project tracking, reporting, and risk identificationSupport adoption of data-driven insights to improve delivery predictabilityFinancial & Vendor CoordinationSupport management of project budgets and forecastsCoordinate with vendors and internal teams to ensure delivery quality and timelinesTeam ContributionCollaborate within the PM and delivery community to share best practices and improve delivery approachesProvide informal guidance to junior team members where neededTechnical & Business SkillsWorking knowledge of R&D systems and IT deliveryUnderstanding of compliance and validation requirementsLeadership & CommunicationStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to work across teams and manage competing prioritiesComfortable presenting updates to stakeholders and mid-level leadershipAbility to translate business needs into project plans and deliverablesBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree and Eight Years' Experience OR Masters' Degree and Six Years' Experience Preferred Qualifications:PMP certificationFamiliarity with Agile (Scrum) & Waterfall methodologies6+ years relevant project management experience3+ years of technical project management experience in a cross-functional environmentExperience supporting projects in regulated (GxP) environments preferred People Leader Accountabilities: •Create Inclusion - knowing the business value of diverse teams, modeling inclusion, and embedding the value of diversity in the way they manage their teams. •Develop Talent - understand the skills, experience, aspirations and potential of their employees and coach them on current performance and future potential. They provide the support needed to remove barriers and connect their team to the broader ecosystem. The salary range for this position is:Bay Area: $169,320.00 - $219,120.00. Raleigh: $146,200.00 - $189,200.00.Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
