You will leverage deep industry experience to influence technical direction, anticipate business trends, and drive improvements across systems, processes, and standards. This role requires strong technical leadership, sound judgment, and the ability to communicate effectively with both peers and leadership.Day in the LifeAs a Staff Engineer – Power Generation (Turbines), you will work independently to anticipate internal and external business trends and lead major, high-impact engineering initiatives. You will recommend improvements to policies, procedures, and technical standards while advising leadership through technical presentations and guiding the work of others. Your ability to influence outcomes, drive consistency, and elevate engineering practices will be key to your success.Responsibilities / ExpectationsLead technical and economic evaluations, performance testing, and the design, construction, or upgrade of new and existing facilitiesExecute complex technical work and provide leadership on projects of significant scope and impactIdentify and anticipate internal and external business or regulatory trends; recommend and implement process and system improvementsDevelop and maintain technical standards, specifications, and best practices with a strong focus on safety and complianceServe as a subject matter expert in rotating equipment, with emphasis on reciprocating turbinesServe as a subject matter expert in gas turbine and reciprocating engine power generation, including generator controls technologyPerform technical analysis of generator systems (5MW and larger) across various manufacturersAnalyze equipment reliability, generator vibration, generator health under transient loading, and protection systemsInterpret technical data and provide guidance to management to support business objectives and decision-makingDeliver technical presentations and advise leadership on engineering strategies and outcomesLead or support cross-functional teams, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and effectivelyDrive innovation through the development or enhancement of services, technologies, and processesPartner across teams to ensure compliance, continuous improvement, and alignment with operational needsInfluence project outcomes and decisions that positively impact business performanceOther duties as assignedEducation / ExperienceRequired:Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution, ORBachelor’s degree in engineering technology (relevant field) with a Professional Engineer (P.E.) licenseMinimum of 15 years of progressive engineering experience in the natural gas, energy, or petrochemical industryPreferred:Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical EngineeringExecutive Master of Business Administration (EMBA)Other RequirementsDeep expertise in rotating equipment and power generation systems, including reciprocating turbines, gas turbines, reciprocating engines, and generator controlsProven ability to analyze equipment performance and reliability, including vibration, transient loading impacts, protection systems, and overall equipment healthStrong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence technical decisions and provide guidance to leadership and cross-functional teamsAbility to work independently while providing technical leadership and mentorshipProficiency in Microsoft Office applicationsPreferred:Professional Engineer (P.E.) licenseProject management experience#LI-AB1About Tulsa:Our corporate headquarters is located in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, the 2nd largest city in Oklahoma and the 47th most populous in the U.S. Tulsa is known as the Mother of "The Mother Road" - Route 66, and boasts impressive art deco architecture, the #1 city park in the U.S. (The Gathering Place) and is a great venue for live music.
