The Department of Public and Ecosystem Health is seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Post-Award Finance Specialist to provide short-term support for sponsored project financial management. This position plays a critical role in ensuring responsible stewardship of grant funding that supports public health, environmental, and ecosystem initiatives. The ideal candidate brings experience in post-award administration, strong analytical skills, and an understanding of compliance requirements associated with public and research funding. Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage financial activity across assigned grant and contract accounts Review expenditures for allowability, allocability, and compliance with sponsor (e.g., federal, state, foundation) and institutional policies Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Assist with financial reporting, invoicing, and grant closeout processes Support budget tracking, forecasting, and variance analysis for active awards Prepare documentation for audits and ensure readiness for internal or external review Collaborate with faculty, principal investigators (PIs), and program staff to support financial decision-making Ensure timely and accurate processing of financial transactions Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business administration, public health administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience with post-award grant management, research administration, or public sector finance strongly preferred Familiarity with federal grant regulations (e.g., Uniform Guidance) and/or public health funding requirements Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Proficiency in Excel and financial management systems Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities Strong communication and interpersonal skills Position Details This is a 2 month part time position offering up to 19 hours per week.
