Job Title:Semester Lecturer - YogaDepartment:Arts and Sciences | Womens Gender and Sexuality StudiesPosition OverviewThe Ohio Prison Education Exchange Project (OPEEP) is hiring a semester lecturer to teach a yoga and mindfulness workshop series at the Ohio Reformatory for Women (ORW) in Marysville. OPEEP is working to expand the range of prison-based programming in the Arts and Sciences. Humanities education, in particular, equips incarcerated students with essential skills—critical thinking, effective communication, and analytical reasoning—that are foundational to long-term career and reentry success and to leadership.Performance Objectives Serve as instructor for a series of yoga and mindfulness workshops, which will meet four (4) times for two and a half (2.5) hours each over the summer 2026 semester (June through August). The dates and times of the workshops will be determined by OPEEP staff in coordination with the instructor and the facility where the workshop(s) is taking place.Design and deliver workshops, including developing workshop programming and intended participant outcomes.Provide timely feedback to OPEEP staff about program delivery, effectiveness, and participant experience and engagement.Communicate with and provide on-site support to participants, including offering general guidance on yoga practice as appropriate within the scope of instruction.Lead all scheduled workshop sessions throughout the semesterEducation and Experience RequirementsRequired:Bachelor’s Degree or the equivalent combination of education and experienceCompletion of a Yoga Alliance 200-Hour Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200) certification program or an equivalent nationally recognized certification program.Prior experience teaching yoga and mindfulness classesMust have reliable transportation to and from the primary work location during scheduled hours.Ability to pass necessary ODRC background check processDesired:Completion of OPEEP instructor training Prior experience working with incarcerated populations in a prison settingAdditional Information:Additional InformationOhio State provides access to a depth and breadth of opportunities and resources.
