Become a part of our caring community Are you a transitioning military service member or a Military Spouse looking for an internship that supports the goal to put health first? During the period of this unpaid internship, you will work with the Medicaid Clinical Services team to ensure interaction between the company and members are optimized. Consumer Service Operations Internship provides transitioning service members that are eligible to participate in the DoW SkillBridge Internship, or military spouses that are eligible to participate in the Military Spouse Career Accelerator Fellowship, with an opportunity to train and work with Humana. If you are interested in this position, you will be required to confirm eligibility to participate in the DoW SkillBridge or Military Spouse Career Accelerator Programs.               The Consumer Service Operations Professional Intern will utilize Humana’s Medicaid training and previously acquired skillsets to support Medicaid member mail processing. Primary responsibilities include receiving, sorting, and distributing incoming and outgoing correspondence related to Medicaid member services. The intern will ensure accurate and timely processing of enrollment forms, eligibility documentation, claims-related communications, and other member correspondence. Additional duties may include tracking mail status, maintaining confidentiality of member information, and collaborating with other teams to resolve mail processing issues and ensure compliance with Medicaid program requirements.Decisions are typically focus on methods, tactics and processes for completing administrative tasks/projects.Regularly exercises discretion and judgment in prioritizing requests and interpreting and adapting procedures, processes and techniques, and works under limited guidance due to previous experience/breadth and depth of knowledge of administrative processes and organizational knowledge.In this role you will be reviewing, and processing incoming member communications and routing appropriately.Must be passionate about contributing to an organization focused on continuously improving consumer experiences and be a team player and have the ability to work independently.Use your skills to make an impact  Required QualificationsTransitioning Service Member eligible to participate in SkillBridge or military spouse eligible to participate in the military spouse fellowshipMinimum 1 year of customer service experience, including typing/data entryProfessional healthcare experience or education in a healthcare discipline   Excellent verbal, listening and written communication skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office, Outlook and WordWorking knowledge of computers, or a demonstrated technical aptitude and an ability to quickly learn new systems with the ability to work with multiple screens and databases with paying attention to detail with data entry.Preferred QualificationsCGX, Excel, and QuickBaseAssociate's or Bachelor's DegreeClerical support background in a healthcare environmentFamiliarity with medical terminologyCNA or Medical Assistant backgroundMedicaid experienceAdditional InformationThe DOW SkillBridge Internship Program provides an opportunity for transitioning military service members to gain civilian work experience with an employer for a period averaging 90 days. https://skillbridge.osd.mil/The Military Spouse Career Accelerator Fellowship Program connects military spouses with employers offering a variety of professional onsite, field, or remote based opportunities for a period up to 12 weeks. https://myseco.militaryonesource.mil/portal/career-acceleratorNetworking opportunities will be provided while participating in the Internship or Fellowship.Due to factors such as location, and/or requirements that cannot be modified, full-time employment is not guaranteed upon completion of the Internship or Fellowship.Workstyle: Remote Work at HomeLocation: U.S.Work Schedule: Must be willing to work weekdays 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Time​Travel: None - May need to report to the office for meetings or trainings or as needed depending on location.Work at Home Guidance To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested,Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadershipEmployees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.Interview Format As part of our hiring process, we will be using an exciting interview with technology provided by Hire Vue, a third-party vendor.  This technology provides our team of recruiters and hiring managers with an enhanced method for decision-making.If you are selected to move forward from your application prescreen, you will receive an email correspondence inviting you to participate in a pre-recorded Voice Interview and/or an SMS Text Messaging interview.
