Systems supported include:Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUVs)Ruggedised Portable Computing SystemsWeather Stations and Weather RADAR equipmentHydrographic survey systemsOur Mission Systems Engineers maintain and evolve the ICT product baseline and interface structures for multiple delivered sub-systems. They also assist in the smooth transition of new capabilities into service.Reporting to the Technical Lead, the Mission Systems Engineer willDevelop and maintain mission system software baselines for the delivered mission systems including:Building software imagesTesting applicationsTesting interfacesApplying Group Policy, security controls, patches and updatesMaintain effective integration between all mission system elementsUsing a whole-of-system approach, conduct investigations into reported defects/problems in the system.Assist in the coordinate and planning of mission system Security Accreditation within the Defence ICT Cyber-Security Accreditation FrameworkDesign, implement and support technical solutionsManage/develop technical documentation defining systems configuration and design processProvide technical advice to Leidos maintenance team and RAN end usersWork with junior engineering staff to expand mission engineering depth and expertise.Provide inputs into potential enhancements to the delivered mission systemsWhat You’ll Bring to Make an ImpactBachelor's degree in either Computer Systems, Telecommunication/Network, or Mechatronics/Robotics engineering.Experience with IT infrastructure and platforms such as Windows, Linux, and Active Directory Experience implementing ICT security controls and settingsEngineering experience, preferably within the Defence industryWorking knowledge and Experience with Defence ICT Cyber-Security AccreditationExperience deploying and managing software applications onto hardware systemsAn understanding of the key elements/phases of Systems Engineering and Integrated Logistics Support activities necessary to maintain the systemsExperience developing engineering artefacts (Applications for Deviation, Problem Reports, Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs), engineering investigation reports, specialist engineering design, etc.)Experience in risk and hazard identification/management within a Cyber-Security regulatoryDon’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes – if you meet most of them, we encourage you to submit your application.
