As a Staff Mechanical Engineer in our Research & Development team, you’ll lead the design and development of life-changing devices that directly impact patient outcomes. This is your opportunity to solve complex challenges, collaborate across disciplines, and make a lasting difference.Work Flexibility:Hybrid: candidates must reside within commuting distance of Tempe, AZ and be able to work onsite several days per week.What You Will DoDesign, develop, and verify components and subsystems for medical devices with minimal supervision.Translate user needs into design specifications and deliver system-level solutions.Lead prototyping and testing efforts to validate design performance.Use various tools and equipment to fabricate, assemble, modify, and troubleshoot fixtures, tooling, and equipment in support of engineering development, testing, and process improvement activities.Identify and resolve complex design issues using data-driven analysis to improve processes and outcomes.Apply clinical knowledge to author design inputs and support Voice of Customer sessions.Ensure compliance with industry standards and mentor others in design control practices.Create and maintain engineering documentation, including Design History Files.Collaborate cross-functionally to drive projects from concept through launch.What You Will NeedRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field.Minimum 4 years of relevant engineering experience.Experience designing mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies.Experience with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools and Design for Manufacturability (DFM) principles.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.Familiarity with risk management and quality systems in a regulated environment.Proficiency in engineering drawing creation and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).   $89,300 - $148,800 USD Annual   Travel Percentage: NoneStryker Corporation is an equal opportunity employer.
