Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.Role Definition:Leads strategic procurement categories to drive year-over-year improvements in Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM) performance. This role is responsible for shaping and executing category strategies that strengthen supplier performance, optimize total cost, mitigate risk, and support enterprise business objectives across a global supply network.Responsibilities:Accountable for the development, communication, and implementation of a worldwide sourcing strategy for Caterpillar’s Mexico Unformed Steel category.Establish and execute strategic category priorities based on benefits and opportunities to ensure conformance and compliance with all major certifying agencies, both internal and external to the enterprise.Lead the development, communication, and execution of a global sourcing strategy for assigned categories, ensuring alignment with business priorities and procurement objectives.Assess supplier base performance, identify capability and performance gaps, and implement targeted improvement plans to enhance quality, delivery, cost competitiveness, and overall supplier effectiveness.Partner with Supply Network and cross-functional stakeholders to proactively identify and mitigate supply risks, using predictive cost modeling, market intelligence, and geographic and component-based analysis.Identify, develop, and manage a high-performing global supply network for one or more categories, leveraging Procurement Classification Codes (PCC) to support category segmentation, sourcing decisions, and long-term supply continuity.Collect and analyze market intelligence and deliver clear and timely communications, forecasts, and activities to appropriate business partners throughout the enterprise.Management of unique procurement / sales process that apply to unformed steel portfolio.Own supplier relationship and performance management for Caterpillar’s Mexico Unformed Steel category.Educational Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Economics, International Business, or a related field.Advanced EnglishExpert in ProcurementSkills:Planning: Tactical, Strategic:Contributes to short-term operational plans.Anticipates and adapts to plan changes.Monitors progress of work against plan as required to meet objectives.Reports variances and makes agreed-upon corrections.Develop tactical plan for own direct responsibility.Effective Communications:Reviews others' writing or presentations and provides feedback and coaching.Adapts documents and presentations for the intended audience.Communicates well downward, upward, and outward.Employs appropriate methods of persuasion when soliciting agreement.Maintains focus on the topic at hand.Negotiating:Ability to conduct due diligence of contract review with legal representation.Successfully completes significant negotiations, both internal and external.Details the risks of negotiation breakdown from each party's perspective.Protects own position, while demonstrating willingness to achieve win-win.Identifies similarities and differences in position and assesses impact on discussions.Detects and addresses lack progress or a stalemate.Business Intelligence:Organizes and maintains data to be captured in the data warehouse for BI applications.Evaluates alternative BI products in terms of their potential value to organization.Develop processes for transforming aggregate data into useful business information.Analyzes BI gained from multiple and diverse environments.Evaluates key benefits, drawbacks and rationale for existing BI activities.Category Management:Advice on streamlining the procurement strategy to realize the strategic benefits of category management.Designs and develops supplier agreements and procurement policies with standard terms and conditions.Identifies roadblocks in the implementation of category management and recommends innovative solutions.Prepare reports to evaluate the impact of category management on the procurement process and present ROI data to management.Supervises the execution of all stages of the category management process.Trains others in category management to ensure a streamlined procurement process.Supplier Management - MFG:Facilitates supplier partnering arrangements that share risk and reward.Monitors supplier performance; works to resolve discrepancies between performance and agreements.Develop quality standards and controls for suppliers.Builds and maintains partnerships with multiple and/or large suppliers.Evaluates issues and terminates supplier relationships as appropriate; works with legal departments.Ensures the fulfillment of report and record-keeping requirements.Strategic Sourcing: Participates in monitoring the execution for all stages of the strategic sourcing process.Trains others on strategic sourcing in multiple and diverse environments.Designs and develops standard supplier agreements and procurement policies with standardized terms and conditions.Works with complex strategic sourcing components including but not limited to negotiations, contracting, and continuous process improvement and implementation.Consults on strategic sourcing methods in relation to business relationships, inter-dependencies and integration.Develops and explains strategic sourcing best practices and rationale for the organization and industry.Top Candidates also have:Relevant and substantial s
