Join us and help shape the future of aerospace and defense.Job Summary:Operations Quality has an opening for a Factory Quality Engineer at our Tucson, AZ facility who will interface with the factory teams supporting transition to production lifecycle activities, production, first article inspections, creating/maintaining work/inspection instructions, preparation for audits, and mentoring junior Quality Engineers. The position is based in Tucson, AZ and requires onsite presence. The quality engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following in the next section.Responsibilities to Anticipate: Train, coach, and mentor quality engineersDevelop strong working relationships with the factory leadership, program leadership, and DCMALead continuous improvement activities to help reach departmental and enterprise-wide goalsSupport factory and program alignment meetings to ensure priorities are properly alignedVerify product and process compliance with respect to contractual, technical, industry, AS9100 Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and internal policiesRegularly generate and publish Quality metricsFacilitate and lead cross-functional team in failure analysis, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations, including identifying non-conformances, providing solutions, tracking issues to closure and leading Corrective Action Boards (CAB)Ensure identification, physical control, and disposition of non-conforming material and facilitate Material Review Board (MRB) when necessarySupport work instruction development and maintenance activities by reviewing work instructions, test instructions, auditing processes, and assuring configuration managementDevelopment and maintenance of inspection instructions, ensuring inspection instructions meet the technical data package requirements and meet production needsRegularly interface with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA)Daily status meetings with the factory support, factory management, hourly employees, and internal stakeholders to manage issueQualifications You Must Have:Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM)Minimum of eight (8) years of experience in related Quality, Operations, Engineering or related disciplineExperience in supporting design and/or manufacturing processManufacturing process experience (assembly, inspection, test) to include familiarity with J-STD 001Previous experience interpreting engineering drawings, work instructions, Bill of Materials (BOMs), consumable materials control, process disciplines and tool controlExperience with AS9102 First Article Inspection RequirementsExperience with AS9100 and/or ISO 9001 quality management systemsActive and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
