We foster a collaborative workplace focused on safety, quality, delivery, cost, and continuous improvement.Role OverviewAs a Propulsion Engineer at our Strother Field site, you will focus on troubleshooting, engineering analysis, and hardware disposition for F110 modules. You will resolve complex engine issues, develop optimized work scopes, and provide data-driven recommendations that improve engine performance, reliability, and shop efficiency.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:Diagnose and resolve complex hardware issues using data analysis and structured problem-solving (RCA, five-why)Analyze inspection findings and data to determine repair/replace/reuse dispositions for engine hardwareDevelop incoming work scopes that balance technical requirements, customer needs, and contractual obligationsCollaborate with design, quality, and operations to implement corrective actions and drive design or process improvementsProvide clear technical guidance and documentation to production teams, internal partners, and customersAssist Production Supervisors and production employees in resolving manufacturing process problems through a drive to root cause and permanent corrective actionEvaluate manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research trials; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, machining, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.Work cross functionally with quality and design engineers to ensure that new processes achieve established metricsTranslate technical processes and methods to train and empower production employees in the manufacturing techniques required for greatest yield, effectiveness & equipment capabilityUtilize lean principles to improve manufacturing efficiency by optimizing and planning work flow, space requirements, equipment organization and equipment layout.Promote and build a positive working relationship with hourly team membersIdeal Candidate:You are a hands-on engineer who enjoys digging into data, solving problems at the root cause, and working closely with shop and cross-functional teams to keep hardware moving through the factory safely and efficientlyMinimum Required Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in aerospace manufacturing OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in aerospace manufacturingMinimum 1 year of demonstrated experience troubleshooting technical issues in a production, overhaul, or maintenance environmentPreferred Qualifications & Experience:LEAN/Six Sigma or equivalent problem-solving/quality trainingJet engine experience in workscoping and hardware dispositionsProficiency with MS Office and basic engineering analysis toolsExperience collaborating in a matrixed, cross-functional environmentSAP experienceAdditional Information:Schedule: 1st Shift, approximately 45 hours/week – with paid overtimeRotational availability for weekend coverageMust be U.S. Citizen, pass background checks and drug screeningsRole may require lifting and work in varying environmental conditions#LI-MO1GE Aerospace offers comprehensive benefits and programs to support your health and, along with programs like HealthAhead, your physical, emotional, financial and social wellbeing.
