And you can too, so bring your energy to ours!As a Data Scientist III/Senior within Power Innovation, you will develop advanced estimating tools and analytical solutions that support large-scale power generation and infrastructure projects. You’ll apply machine learning, AI, and data engineering techniques to improve cost accuracy, scenario analysis, and decision-making across early-phase development and execution.This role is highly integrated with estimating, engineering, and project controls, requiring both technical depth and strong business understanding. You’ll translate complex datasets into scalable tools that drive consistency, transparency, and speed in how projects are evaluated and delivered.Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you’ll quickly learn and grow with us.Responsibilities/Expectations:Leads a team to implement project plans or programs with significant complexity to achieve objectives, coordinating with our internal and external business partnersSets up the core project team to facilitate achievement of the project objectiveCoordinates key functions with technical resources under the guidance of Project Life CycleDevelops and implements project reports, presentations, schedules and costing forecastsPresents and implements recommendations supported by sound engineering and operational efficiency that supports reliability targets and reduces risks inherent in the projectPrepares, reviews and approves requests for proposals, evaluations and contractor selectionUnderstands the economic impact of the project being developed to drive solutionsAnticipates issues, gathers information, assesses opportunity, analyzes alternative solutions and makes important decisionsDevelops optimum project solutions that improve economic profit over the life of the projectRuns moderate-large projects with high quality and a focus on our business partnersLeads project teams and contractors; accountable for producing results and meeting deadlinesDesigns and develops estimating tools and analytical models to support cost forecasting, scenario analysis, and project evaluation across development and execution phasesIntegrates cost, schedule, and technical datasets into scalable analytical frameworks to support estimating and decision-making processes Applies statistical, predictive, and machine learning techniques to identify cost drivers, sensitivities, and project risksDevelops practical analytical tools and solutions that are actively used by business teams to support planning, estimating, and execution decisionsPartners with estimating, engineering, and project controls teams to standardize data structures, improve workflows, and enhance consistency in analytical outputsCreates tools and models that enable rapid evaluation of project configurations, phasing strategies, and technology optionsTranslates complex datasets into actionable insights that improve decision-making for large-scale infrastructure or energy projectsDemonstrates ability to build practical, business-facing analytical tools (in addition to developing models) that support real-time decision-makingOther duties as assignedEducation/Years of Experience:Business Data Scientist Staff:Required: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 15 years’ experience in oil and gas engineering/project managementPreferred: Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or construction management and Master's degree in business, project management or engineering management; PMP, PE, and Microsoft Specialist Project Certification (MS)Business Data Scientist Senior:Required: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Construction Science, Business and five (5) years' of related experience supporting database development and data analytics; and/or natural gas industry experiencePreferred: Master's Degree in Business Administration, Data Science, Information Technology, and ten (10) years' work experience in data science and/or business intelligence developer and/or natural gas fundamentals modelingShift/Work hours/Travel Requirements:Must be willing to travel up to 50%Other Requirements:Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skillsStrong experience applying data science, analytics, or modeling within engineering, construction, infrastructure, or project-based environmentsProficiency in business intelligence and visualization tools (e.g., Power BI) for developing dashboards, reporting, and communicating analytical outputsExperience working with integrated datasets including cost, schedule, and technical information to support forecasting and scenario analysisProven ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams including engineering, estimating, and project controls to drive alignment and data standardizationSolid understanding of PLC/Stage-Gate processes and extensive experience with facility construction or operations in the oil and gas industry#LI-AK1About Tulsa:Our corporate headquarters is located in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma, the 2nd largest city in Oklahoma and the 47th most populous in the U.S. Tulsa is known as the Mother of "The Mother Road" - Route 66, and boasts impressive art deco architecture, the #1 city park in the U.S. (The Gathering Place) and is a great venue for live music.
