As a Solutions Architect within PNC's Technology organization, you can be based in Pittsburgh PA, Cleveland OH, Phoenix AZ or Denver CO. The Solution Architect is responsible for designing end-to-end technology solutions that align with business objectives, ensuring scalability, performance, security, and integration across enterprise platforms. This role bridges business needs and technical execution, guiding engineering teams and influencing architecture decisions across multiple systems.PNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position. ________________________________________Key Responsibilities:Solution Design & Architecture• Design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions across applications, data, and infrastructure• Translate business requirements into architectural blueprints and technical specifications• Define integration patterns across enterprise systems, APIs, and third-party platforms• Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards and roadmapsTechnical Leadership• Provide architectural guidance and direction to engineering teams• Lead technical design reviews and ensure adherence to design principles• Identify and mitigate technical risks and dependencies early• Drive best practices in design, coding, and deploymentStakeholder Engagement• Partner with product, business, and engineering leaders to define solution strategies• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders• Support pre-sales or strategic initiatives through solution modeling and presentationsDelivery & Execution• Support solution implementation across the full SDLC• Ensure solutions meet non-functional requirements (performance, availability, security, compliance)• Oversee integration and deployment strategies across environmentsGovernance & Standards• Establish and enforce architecture standards, patterns, and frameworks• Conduct architecture reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise governance• Maintain documentation of architecture artifacts, decisions, and patterns________________________________________Required Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred• 8+ years of experience in software engineering, systems architecture, or solution design preferred• Proven experience designing enterprise-scale applications and distributed systems• Strong understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)• Deep knowledge of APIs, microservices, and integration patterns• Experience with security, compliance, and regulatory frameworks________________________________________Preferred Qualifications:• Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, TOGAF)• Experience in financial services or highly regulated industries• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines• Knowledge of data architecture, analytics, and event-driven systems________________________________________Key Skills:• Architecture & Design: Systems thinking, scalable design, solution modeling• Technical Expertise: Cloud, APIs, microservices, distributed systems• Leadership: Influencing without authority, mentoring teams• Communication: Executive-level storytelling and technical translation• Problem Solving: Risk identification, trade-off analysis, decision-making________________________________________Success Metrics:• Alignment of solutions to business outcomes and strategy• Reduction in technical debt and architecture risks• Delivery of scalable, reliable, and secure solutions• Stakeholder satisfaction and adoption of architectural standardsPNC will not provide sponsorship for employment visas or participate in STEM OPT for this position.PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance.
