The School of Nursing is seeking a Clinical Education Support Technician to support its nursing skills and simulation labs by preparing clinical skills rooms, maintaining equipment and supplies, and ensuring students and faculty have a safe, well-organized learning environment. The Clinical Education Support Technician will primarily be responsible for supporting nursing faculty, clinical instructors, and students by preparing and maintaining the clinical skills environments to accurately represent a clinical setting using real and simulated clinical supplies and equipment. This position will oversee the maintenance and troubleshooting of the CTEN (Center for Technology Enhanced Nursing) mid-fidelity mannequins and human patient simulator equipment, as well as partial task trainers, medical equipment, and specialized simulation training software used by faculty during clinical training and assessment programs. No two days will look alike in this role. The CTEN is a 5,000-square-foot space that includes 4 skills labs, 2 assessment labs, and simulated hospital, clinic, and home environments. These spaces support students’ hands-on learning by providing opportunities to explore and learn the role of the professional nurse in a variety of unique care settings. The CTEN typically operates Monday through Friday between the hours of 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and core work hours between these hours will be set upon hire. Work hours will need to be shifted to meet operational needs and occasional work in the evenings and/or weekends may be required to meet the needs of the school. This position is full-time, 100%. It is anticipated this position requires most work to be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location and has been designated as a position that is essential to School of Nursing operations. Key Job Responsibilities:Assists with providing basic training and technical support to learners in settings such as classrooms, labs, clinics, and distance learning mediumsMaintains, calibrates, and sets up skills lab and simulation equipment according to established policies and proceduresAssists with the design and development of engaging, effective learning experiences which may be face-to-face, blended, and/or onlineProvides support for faculty development and engagement programs and activitiesContributes to researching, designing, and/or acquiring learning resources, technologies, materials, and/or processes to support learningProvides support for collecting, organizing, interpreting, and disseminating data to identify instructional program needs and enhance effectivenessAnalyzes, tests, troubleshoots, resolves issues, and provides feedback regarding learning technologies, including supplies and equipment, in the skills and simulation environmentsProvides technical and logistical consultation, training, and/or support for learning technology tools and platforms within the nursing skills and simulation labsDepartment:School of Nursing, Academic Affairs-Skills and SimulationFor 100 years, the University of Wisconsin–Madison's School of Nursing has been committed to enhancing healthcare through teaching and research. Actual salary will be negotiated based on experience and qualifications.
