From breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features, we are shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.The RoleAs a Manufacturing Device Level Analytics Controls Implementation Engineer, you will support the development and deployment of controls solutions that enable device-level analytics across GM vehicle assembly and powertrain manufacturing plants. In this role, you will help implement and standardize DLA controls architecture, support common controls compliance, and work cross-functionally with DLA, Controls Architecture, IT, and plant teams to deliver scalable manufacturing solutions.This role is well suited for someone who combines strong controls expertise with an interest in analytics, standardization, and continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.What You’ll DoDevelop, validate, and standardize PLC logic used for controls device data parsingOwn and maintain automated PLC logic generation toolsSupport implementation of DLA controls architecture across GM manufacturing facilitiesEnsure compliance with GM common controls hardware, software, networking, and cybersecurity standardsPartner with DLA, controls, IT, and plant teams to understand requirements and develop effective solutionsSupport development and testing of controls software and integration of DLA logic into core PLC templatesCollaborate with controls subject matter experts to ensure compatibility across applications and systemsCreate and maintain training documentation and standardized work materialsAnalyze plant observations and recommend improvements to controls and analytics solutionsProvide updates, implementation support, training, and guidance to internal teams and strategic suppliersTravel to GM manufacturing facilities as needed for pilots, testing, implementation, upgrades, and trainingRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Engineering3+ years of hands-on experience in PLC controls programming, development, project coordination, site implementation, or project execution3+ years of experience in automation controls, manufacturing engineering, or process studiesHands-on experience with Rockwell and Siemens controls systemsStrong PLC programming experience in automotive manufacturing, assembly, and/or powertrain environmentsKnowledge of automation controls hardware and softwareExperience with GM common controls hardware, software, and network standards, including GCCS and/or GCCHUnderstanding of GM plant floor systemsStrong analytical, project management, communication, and collaboration skillsAbility to interpret manufacturing and device-level data and support data-driven decision makingExperience supporting site implementation and project executionPreferred QualificationsFANUC experienceKnowledge of data analytics concepts and their application in manufacturing systemsExperience with business intelligence and analytics tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or PythonProficiency with Microsoft Office tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and ProjectExperience in automotive manufacturing plant maintenance, industrial engineering, or controls execution GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role. Any relocation costs would be the responsibility of the selected candidate. This position requires the ability to legally operate a motor vehicle on a regular basis. A company vehicle will only be provided for this role by passing the Motor Vehicle Report review.
