Job Description SummaryJob DescriptionThe Engineer provides direction and assistance to work group in order to meet assigned objectives. In this role you will work within defined parameters to make decisions, apply concepts to issues of moderate complexity, and resolve issues through immediate action or short-term planning.Execute the analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical engineering principals, material knowledge and general understanding of gas turbines operational environmentPrepare and present technical data to internal and external customersDocument and communicate results of technical data generatedParticipate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiativesShare engineering information and promote open dialogueAssure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and proceduresAs necessary, make decisions affecting airworthiness and environmental protection as per delegation in Design Organization HandbookRequirements:This role requires 1-2 years of experience in the stress and life analysis disciplines Bachelor or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering Proficiency in English languageDesired:Strong desire to grow in stress analysis and lifingFamiliarity with FEAStrong oral and written communication skillsNonlinear static stress analysis of static structures and rotating engine components (nonlinear friction contacts, preloads, nonuniform thermal gradient, pressure loads)Basic knowledge of APDL macrosConvergence troubleshootingCAD software – NX, Meshing tools – Workbench Ansys APDLAdditional InformationRelocation Assistance Provided: No
