We’re looking for people who are determined to make life better for people around the world.Sr. Director Total Rewards – Europe and One India Organizational Overview The Sr. Director, Total Rewards – Europe, India & GBS will lead a team responsible for compensation across our Europe, One India, and Global Business Solutions (GBS) populations and will help drive key global projects. The incumbent is expected to keep current with external compensation trends and legislation and apply his/her knowledge to inform the global cash compensation strategy and design – with particular focus on the rapidly evolving regulatory environment in Europe. This leader sits on the Global Compensation Leadership Team, reports to the Vice President of Global Compensation, and oversees the Northern European, Italy, France, Spain and German Hubs, alongside compensation leadership for One India and GBS. A multi-year priority of the role is leading Lilly’s response to the EU Pay Transparency Directive across all impacted countries.Responsibilities:Compensation Philosophy, Policies, Processes & EducationSet the compensation strategy for Europe, India, and GBS, ensuring market competitiveness, internal equity, and alignment with Lilly’s global pay philosophy and total rewards framework.Develop and maintain global processes and policies regarding cash compensation programs, ensuring they translate effectively into the regional context.Oversee benchmarking, market analysis, survey strategy, and processes for cash compensation programs across Europe, India, and GBS.Enable salary scale development and the OUS scale process across the region, working in partnership with Global Compensation Strategy & Operations and country leads.Partner on processes and tools used to facilitate the annual salary program development and year-end compensation process (ACR) across the region.Work with the Operations team to deliver tools, reports, and educational materials that enable key deliverables in-region.Enable education of HR, supervisors, and employees on total rewards philosophy and programs.Anticipate and respond to regulatory change across the region – including pay transparency, works council and collective bargaining considerations, and country-specific compensation requirements – ensuring Lilly’s practices remain compliant and competitive.Compensation Consulting & Strategic ProjectsLead and participate in strategic compensation initiatives and global projects, flexing between country-level execution, regional initiatives, and enterprise-wide programs as the work demands.Lead the team to enable proactive consulting, providing key internal and external insights for HR and business partners across Europe, India, and GBS.Understand key capabilities and organizational objectives so that our compensation interventions and programs support these priorities.Remain well-versed in external market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging practices, and leverage learnings/insights to educate the broader Global Compensation organization and the business.Advise on executive and high-impact individual compensation matters within the region, including offers for senior hires, retention actions, and stock considerations.EU Pay Transparency LeadershipLead Lilly’s end-to-end response to the EU Pay Transparency Directive across impacted countries – a multi-year program of work spanning policy design, pay structure readiness, reporting, candidate and employee pay communication, and works council engagement.Define and own the EU Pay Transparency project roadmap, in partnership with Executive Compensation, Benefits, Legal, HR Technology, Talent Acquisition, the broader Global Compensation team and Country HR Directors.Establish governance, reporting cadence, and decision rights so that EU Pay Transparency work is delivered consistently across countries while reflecting local nuance.Represent Lilly externally as appropriate – with peer companies, advisors, and industry groups – to stay ahead of regulator and market expectations.Staying Ahead Through AI and TechnologyChampion the use of AI and emerging technology to evolve how compensation is delivered – continuing to help the team evolve toward higher-value advisory, decision support, and scenario modeling for the business.Identify and prioritize AI-enabled use cases across the regional compensation lifecycle – benchmarking and market analysis, ACR support, offer modeling, and pay communication – partnering with Global Comp Operations, HR Technology, and HR Solutions to bring them to life.Build AI and digital fluency on the teamPosition Europe, India & GBS organizations as forward-leaning, future-ready functions – scanning the external environment for compensation.Leading, Coaching and Developing the TeamProvide coaching to the team to deliver on core objectives across the Northern European, Italy, France, Spain and German Hubs, India, and GBS.Create a collaborative environment across the U.S. and Int’l teams to share learning and best practices.Provide opportunities for the team to learn, grow, and develop in their technical and leadership skills.Lead a multi-country, multi-cultural team – fostering inclusion, psychological safety, and shared accountability across geographies and time zones.Responsibilities may evolve as new compensation programs are considered and as our global compensation organization evolves.Basic Requirements:Bachelor’s degreeMinimum 5 years HR experience (or equivalent leadership experience)Additional Skills / Preferences
