Career CategoryManufacturingJob DescriptionJob SummaryThe Sr. Manager, Manufacturing – AI-Enabled Innovation (IVI) plays a key role in transforming how Amgen manufactures medicines by leveraging AI, advanced analytics, and digital technologies to drive smarter, faster, and more reliable operations across our global network. Based in the Amgen India Capability Center (AIN), this role translates complex manufacturing needs into scalable, data-driven solutions. In the near term, it supports deployment of priority TWFS capabilities to ensure smooth transitions, strong adoption, and operational continuity through structured change management, stakeholder engagement, and capability building. In the steady state, the role operates within the Innovation Velocity Interface (IVI), leading the end-to-end lifecycle of innovation—from intake and rapid MVP development to global deployment—while partnering across Manufacturing, Technology, and Quality.This is a high-impact, global role at the forefront of AI-enabled manufacturing, redefining how work gets done and accelerating the delivery of life-changing medicines to patients.Key Responsibilities1. Transition & Deployment (Initial Phase)Support manufacturing sites in deployment of TWFS capabilities (e.g., MES standardization, documentation automation, performance management)Drive site readiness for transition, including stakeholder alignment, adoption planning, and risk mitigationAct as an integrator across site, AIN, and technology teams to ensure coordinated executionSupport knowledge including training, communication, and reinforcement to sustain adoption post go-liveIdentify and escalate risks related to GxP compliance, supply continuity, and operational performance2. Innovation Lifecycle Management (IVI Operating Model)Lead intake, triage, and prioritization of manufacturing use cases and innovation opportunitiesTranslate business needs into clear problem statements, MVP scope, and success criteriaDevelop rapid, data-driven business cases (value, feasibility, scalability)Drive execution across the IVI lifecycle: intake → MVP → pilot → scale → sustainEnsure solutions are designed for multi-site reuse, scalability, and long-term sustainment3. Stakeholder Engagement & Network LeadershipDrive change adoption by aligning stakeholders on value, ways of working, and behavioral shifts required for AI-enabled solutionsServe as a primary AIN point of contact for manufacturing stakeholdersBuild trusted partnerships with site leadership, Quality, and functional SMEsStructure engagement to maximize input while minimizing burden on site teamsMobilize the right cross-functional expertise (AI/Data, Tech, SMEs) to deliver outcomesFacilitate alignment and decision-making across a complex, global stakeholder network4. Program & Delivery LeadershipOperate as a program manager and solution translator, managing scope, timelines, dependencies, and risksDrive execution discipline in ambiguous, fast-paced environmentsEnsure adherence to defined governance, decision gates, and escalation pathwaysTrack and report progress against delivery milestones, adoption, and value realization5. Value Delivery & Continuous ImprovementDrive outcomes aligned to IVI success metrics, including:Speed to MVPAdoption, behavior change, and scalability across sites Measurable business impact (e.g., cycle time, quality, productivity)Capture lessons learned and feed back into continuous improvement of IVI operating modelEnsure solutions are compliant by design, meeting GxP and regulatory expectationsBasic QualificationsDoctorate/ Masters/ Bachelor's with 12 to 17 years of experienceIn addition to meeting at least one of the above requirements, the candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of experience managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources.Preferred Qualifications6+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical manufacturing, operations, or related environmentsDemonstrated success building and leading teams (including leader-first hiring and scaling new organizations).Experience in digital enablement, innovation delivery, or operational transformation in a regulated settingStrong understanding of GxP environments, manufacturing processes, and site operationsDemonstrated ability to translate business needs into scalable solutions and structured execution plansProven experience in program or project management, including managing cross-functional initiativesExperience building business cases and prioritizing initiatives based on value and feasibilityStrong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without direct authorityAbility to work effectively across Manufacturing, Technology, and Quality organizationsData-driven mindset with experience using metrics and insights to guide decision-makingExperience supporting change management, user adoption, and capability deploymentAbility to operate in a global, matrixed environment across time zonesExperience working across regions and time zones with cultural awareness and adaptability.Additional Information Travel: as needed to support global stakeholder engagement (limited/periodic).Work Style: global collaboration across time zones; strong partnering across sites, functions, and technology teams..
