Holy Cross Health & Holy Cross Medical Group (HCMG) is seeking a Cardiac Advanced Practice Provider (PA/NP) with a genuine interest in cardiothoracic surgery services to join their team in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This full-time position involves a multi-disciplinary approach to inpatient care, managing CVICU, CVIMC, and Step-down units, and offers opportunities for outpatient pre-operative, post-operative, and ongoing surveillance evaluations. The practice specializes in various cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures, including adult cardiac surgery, Aortic surgery, Minimally Invasive Valve Surgery, and Hybrid Maze procedures. Practice Info Multi-disciplinary team approach to inpatient care in partnership with a Thoracic Surgeon, 2 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, and 3 Advanced Practice Providers Manages the CVICU, CVIMC, and Step-down units Outpatient setting to perform pre-operative, post-operative, and ongoing surveillance evaluations Specializes in Thoracic Surgery, adult cardiac surgery, Aortic surgery, Minimally Invasive Valve Surgery, and Hybrid Maze procedure for the treatment of Atrial Fibrillation Implants and manages ECMO and the Impeller 5.5 Participates in the STS Registry and benchmarks performance for quality and outcomes improvement Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments including history, physical examinations, interpretation of diagnostic studies Manage patients in the pre-operative, post-operative, and ongoing surveillance periods Evaluate and triage new patient referrals and follow-up visits Order and interpret laboratory studies, diagnostic testing Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with collaborating physicians Provide patient education on disease prevention, lifestyle modifications, and medication management Assist with hospital rounding, consults, and discharge planning (if applicable) Document all patient encounters thoroughly and accurately in the Electronic Medical Record Compensation Competitive salary based upon experience Benefits Health, Dental, and Vision Insurance 403(b) with employer match Paid time off and CME allowance Malpractice insurance coverage Supportive team environment with opportunities for professional growth and development Shift & Schedule Full-Time Days Position Requirements Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Program National Advanced Practice Registered Nurse Certification (APRN) OR national board certification as a Physician Assistant Current unrestricted Physician Assistant or APRN license in the State of Florida Valid DEA license Minimum of 2 years of experience in the management of Thoracic and Cardiac Surgery patients BLS/ACLS
