Admissions Counselor IIUSC Marshall School of BusinessMarshall Graduate AdmissionsThe Admissions Counselor will support the functions of the MBA admissions team by managing admissions inquiries, providing exemplary service to prospective students and applicants, managing and reviewing applications, coordinating communication with applicants during the application process, assisting with data collection and reporting, and working with other USC and Marshall departments to manage internal and external information flows. The Admissions Counselor will also assist in developing recruiting and outreach programs for prospective applicants. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, comfortable in decision making and counseling of applicants, organized and skilled in project management, and an excellent communicator, both written and verbal.Responsibilities and DutiesReviews student applications in coordination with the MBA admissions committee using approved rubrics and guidelinesCounsels applicants one-on-one on admission policies and procedures. Evaluates and offers solutions to applicant problems and requests regarding admission.Coordinates and conducts interviews of prospective students and provides feedback to the admissions committee as requiredMaintains knowledge USC financial aid processes to effectively guide applicants to ensure their financial aid requests are processed in a timely and correct mannerProvides outstanding customer service to applicants and prospective applicantsCommunicates with prospective students by telephone, email, web conference, through online presentations and in person to advise prospective students on the MBA program and other USC Marshall graduate programsInputs all activity into CRM/database systems in a timely and accurate manner and runs reports as neededAssists in recruitment planning and activitiesAssists in the planning and coordination of event logistics, orientations, commencement, and other program activitiesStays current on a wide range of university policies, school-wide policies, and educational trends affecting graduate students and admissions/recruitment practices for professional programsPerforms other related duties as assignedWorks on weekends and evenings, as neededAvailable for occasional travel to recruiting events and conferencesPreferred QualificationsMasters degree in education focusing on a student affairs-related field3 years of experience in graduate admissionsStudent program or services experienceExperience supporting online courses and programsKnowledge of USC student and academic programs, policies and procedures, and USC’s Student Information SystemKnowledge of Salesforce used in higher education admissions or related functionKnowledge of Microsoft Office applicationsAnticipated Hiring Range: The annual base salary range for this position is $66,962.45 - $86,396.60.
