Become a part of our caring community The Supplemental Benefits Operations (SBO) team within Humana’s Enterprise Growth organization manages Medicare Mandatory Supplemental Benefits (MSBs) that meaningfully shape member experience, operational performance, and regulatory outcomes. This role serves as a Principal Individual Contributor and the Director’s primary thought partner and execution lead for the Humana Spending Account Card, a highly strategic, member centric supplemental benefit.Location: strong preference for Louisville, KY but open to remoteReporting to the Director of Supplemental Benefits Operations, this role translates strategy into execution—supporting the design, implementation, optimization, and governance of the Spending Account Card across its full lifecycle. The Principal operates with a high degree of autonomy, leading complex bodies of work, influencing cross‑functional teams, and serving as a recognized subject‑matter expert—while remaining aligned to the Director’s strategic direction and priorities.This position partners closely with product development, operations, technology, compliance, finance, analytics, and external vendors to ensure benefit solutions are compliant, operationally sound, scalable, and continuously improving.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic Support & Execution LeadershipServe as the Director’s primary partner in shaping and advancing the strategy and roadmap for the Humana Spending Account CardTranslate strategic direction into clear execution plans, workstreams, and cross‑functional deliverablesDevelop analyses, options, and recommendations to inform leadership decision‑makingSupport evolution of the Spending Account Card as a scalable supplemental benefit capabilityBenefit Design, Implementation & Regulatory ExecutionLead execution of benefit design and structural changes aligned to CMS regulations and business goalsOversee benefit configuration, system setup, testing coordination, and quality assuranceProvide subject‑matter expertise on regulatory requirements and implementation best practicesSupport audit readiness, compliance reviews, and documentation accuracyOperational Excellence & Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to improve member experience, operational efficiency, and benefit clarityDrive continuous improvement initiatives using performance data and stakeholder feedbackSurface risks and dependencies with recommended mitigation strategiesSupport stabilization, monitoring, and post‑implementation optimizationVendor & Risk Management SupportPartner with the Director on vendor management for card processing and benefit administrationSupport vendor performance reviews, issue resolution, and service‑level discussionsAssist in vendor contract negotiations alongside procurement, legal, and financeSupport fraud monitoring, investigation coordination, and mitigation effortsCross‑Functional Influence & EnablementAct as a trusted point of contact for cross‑functional Spending Account Card initiativesFacilitate working sessions and decision forums to drive alignmentSupport training, knowledge transfer, and operational readinessManage multiple concurrent, high‑visibility initiatives effectivelyUse your skills to make an impact  Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree 8+ years of experience in strategy, healthcare, financial services, payments, or regulated environmentsProven ownership of complex initiatives from concept through executionStrong analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑influence skillsExperience with vendors, operations, and compliance‑driven requirementsPrior experience interfacing and presenting with senior leadershipPreferred Qualifications Experience in the Fintech industryExperience in Medicare Advantage and supplemental benefit programsGraduate degree (MBA, MPH, PhD, or similar)Familiarity with third‑party risk management, risk mitigation and governanceExperience with credit, prepaid, or digital payment productsAdditional InformationTo ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees must meet the following criteria:At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is required; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested.Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership.Employees who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office employees with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information.As part of our hiring process for this opportunity, we will be using an interviewing technology called HireVue to enhance our hiring and decision-making ability.
