Fighters Software Engineering ManagerCompany:The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently seeking a Fighters Software Engineering Manager (Level K) to join the Software Organization located in Daytona Beach, FL. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.The ideal candidate will lead a team of mission systems software engineers developing real-time embedded software for a Fighters Platform in an agile, collaborative environment. Engineers on the team develop software that is responsible for the Fighters mission system capabilities. Additionally, you will serve as a business owner on one of the program’s agile release trains.You will work closely with Program Management to perform on our contracts and have frequent customer interactions. The selected candidate will also be expected to demonstrate and promote successful collaboration and knowledge sharing between St. Louis and Daytona Beach to ensure successful execution from this new location.Boeing is the world's largest aerospace company and leading manufacturer of commercial airplanes and defense, space and security systems. Failure to complete the assessment will remove you from consideration.Position Responsibilities: Develops and carries out project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goalsAcquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvementsDevelops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and team membersProvides guidance and approval of technical approaches, products and processesHires, Manages, develops and motivates employeesManages employees performing engineering and technical activities in the area of Software EngineeringManage within the Scaled Agile Framework environment (SAFe)Coordinate across teams within the Agile Release Train (ART) and across other various ARTs on the Solution TrainManage and coordinate work across unclassified and collateral secret areas to ensure full solutions for the warfighterFulfills Cost Account Manager (CAM) duties as appropriate for Earned Value Management (EVM) trackingPresents software status as needed to Boeing Program Management and Navy customers and supports the managing of program contractsBasic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience): Ability to obtain Secret US Security clearance (Post-Start)3 or more years of leadership experiencePreferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer scienceExperience working on Mission Systems productsExperience leading teams, ideally software teamsWorking knowledge of the Scale Agile Framework (SAFe)Experience with Earned Value ManagementTravel: Some travel may be required up to 10%Drug Free Workplace:Boeing is a Drug Free Workplace (DFW) where post offer applicants and employees are subject to testing for marijuana, cocaine, opioids, amphetamines, PCP, and alcohol when criteria is met as outlined in our policies.Conflict of Interest:Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.Pay & Benefits: At Boeing, we strive to deliver a Total Rewards package that will attract, engage and retain the top talent.
