Come join us on our mission to achieve zero congestion, zero emissions, and zero crashes!”What You Will Do (Responsibilities):Create and implement daily quality control procedures for body shop dimensional control. Support daily quality control procedures for body shop welding, dispense, fastening and metal finish.Provide a safe work environmentGroup leader for Dimensional Op Techs and CMM OperatorsManage body dimensional control procedures – Understands and monitors A, B, C & E31 data and metrics for the body shop and drives the process to achieve metric goalsCoordinates and analyzes dimensional data collection from CMM and Perceptron Vision Systems to drive build to nominalProvide corrective action for customer dis-satisfiers affecting GCA, DRR, and DRLBe a technical resource for skilled trades and production teamsSupport the maintenance & engineering group for all activities, including breakdowns & project planningSupport production & maintenance for TIP, ISO & GMSProvide an environment which stimulates team member involvement and personal growthProvide customer support for Stamping, Paint and General AssemblyLead problem solving activities working with Stamping and outside suppliers to resolve process related issuesYou will analyze and implement product or machinery designs for the best method for manufacturing processes and error-proofingYou will propose and evaluate the processes for equipment in assigned areaDirect the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for assigned areaYou will keep regular contact with partners outside the work groupYou may evaluate or monitor expenditures for processes and/or equipmentManage dimensional PCPs and provide countermeasures for any open issueHost weekly Dimensional Wall Reviews with Stamping, Body Shop, and GA team members to review latest Body shop quality metrics and open build issuesPresent to plant leadership each week the countermeasures taken to reduce the Top 5 Body Shop GCA defectsEnsure up to date gauge calibrations for tooling equipmentYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Bachelor Degree in Engineering OR pursuing an Engineering Degree or equivalent experience2+ years of experience in body shop tooling1+ year of experience manufacturing dimensional processesAbility to work / rotate through all 3 shifts (1st, 2nd & 3rd)Ability to work over-time, weekends, holidays, etc. as neededProcess validation experience with new equipment build, installation and start-upKnowledge of manufacturing and quality processesWell-developed oral and written communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work in a team environmentAbility to travel 10% of the time or higher based on business needs domestically and internationally.What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications) Perceptron ExperienceDimensional experienceTeamcenter Vis MockupKnowledge of CMM, Hexagon, Scan Box equipmentLeica/VRSI ExperienceSponsorship:GM DOES NOT PROVIDE IMMIGRATION-RELATED SPONSORSHIP FOR THIS ROLE.
