Job DescriptionIn this role, Senior Hardware Design Engineer – Aggregator, you will be responsible for Aggregator Hardware Design & Execution and develop and/or improve hardware development process with center of expertise. You will work with cross functional team (Semi conductor, DREs, GM software, PCB layout, Mechanical Engineering, Supplier, Validation) to deliver quality product on time. You'll effectively achieve program milestones by thorough and effective program management. We are seeking a high performing independent Senior Hardware Design Engineer – Aggregator to develop winning execution strategies, oversee solutions, resolve issues, and deliver continuous improvement for Aggregators considering quality, cost, and timing.ResponsibilitiesResponsible for Aggregator(s) electrical hardware design.Work closely with other teams, such as software engineers, mechanical engineers, and manufacturing teams, to ensure seamless integration of electrical hardware designs into the overall product.Lead embedded designs for advanced module architectures.Lead new IC design/development strategic to advanced in-vehicle architecturesLead electrical schematic design and PCB layoutAssess the feasibility of proposed electrical hardware designs, considering factors such as cost, performance, reliability, and manufacturability.Support next generation designs in digital/analog hardware including Gig+ ethernet, processors, memory, eFuse, FET, HSD/LSD, various semi associated with AggregatorsPerform/Review electrical worst case analysisRepresent the GM HW team as design expert in the core technologies developed among the teamOptimize five-point parametric tests and finalize end of line production testsLead the process as a build-to-print engineer that also acts as a liaison with the contract houseLead/execute/support design testing, issue resolution, and design improvementApply cost effective solutions with improved performance designLead product development as part of a multi hub engineering organizations based in Detroit and West CoastRefine/optimize requirements with MPG teamMaintain Aggregator Hardware Design deliverables e.g., Block Diagram, Schematics, PCB layout, …Lead Peer Reviews and identify issues (e.g. integration, interfaces, systemic issues)Support Engineering Change Request (ECR) of Aggregators.Support Assembly Plant issue resolutionProvide technical leadership for troubleshooting activities to support PRTS Issue Resolution Support Product Investigations (SFI Process)Lead Cost ReductionProvides guidance and consultation to Design Release Engineers (DREs) in product development team meetingCreate and maintain Best PracticesDemonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within Aggregator team and across other SMTs.Collaborate and strategize with Aggregator TS, Electric Power (Sub)system TS, and SafetyEnsure all vehicle Program Imperatives (i.e., piece cost, investment, mass, base engineering content & IPTV) involving these components are met.Work with DRE/Validation group to setup a plan for a component validation plan (includes component software verification) and ensure that the plan is executed in time to meet program imperatives.Participate in Formal Design, Peer and Quality Valve reviews as required by the Vehicle Development Process (VDP).Develop/Review/Approve all In-process Electrical test plans.Support vehicle integration activity for pre-production and production vehiclesLead/participate in issue resolution for design and development issues, ECU warranty analysis, parts restriction and report updates as required to Engineering and Vehicle Team leadershipLead/support DFMEA/PFMEA of AggregatorRequirementsBachelor of Science in Engineering Required. Masters degree preferredProfessional experience creating digital/analog HW interfaces including schematic creation and/or PCB layout & supportive documentationMinimum 3+ years working experience in automotive hardware electronics designExperience in design & analysis tools like Mentor Graphics (schematic & layout) MathCad, PSpice & SaberHigh speed Communication Buses (Ethernet, PCIe, SerDes…)In-depth knowledge of Low voltage power distribution (eFuse, FET, Thermal, LiB, DC/DC)In-depth knowledge of requirements engineering process (FMEA, Preliminary Hazard Analyses)In-depth knowledge of verification and validation processesIn-depth knowledge of embedded software development, testing and associated toolsUnderstanding of hardware design and failure modeUnderstanding of engineering theory and principles of operation of mechanical/electrical mechanismsThorough knowledge of design development and test engineering, manufacturing and assembly operations, engineering processes and procedures.Highly developed oral and written communications skillsDemonstrated ability to work cross-functionally within Electrical and across other SMTs.Demonstrated problem solving ability.High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others, motivate employees, and elicit work outputVery high level of analytical problem-solving skills where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult.Preferred QualificationPrevious industry experience with compute, connectivity, Body controls, lighting controls, or low voltage distribution#LI-SW1General Company ExpectationsAt this level you are expected to operate with a high level of independent discernment and are typically responsible for implementing functional strategy, administering and coordinating programs, counseling and advising management.As a fully-qualified individual contributor who has thorough knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the function, you will provide expert judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems.Resolve highly complex technical issues and conducts advanced research.Recommend alterations to development and design to improve quality of products and/or procedures.Skilled and proficient with a variety of the field's conce
