The future of cybersecurity starts with you.About the Role:CrowdStrike is establishing a FinOps practice to drive sustainable cost management across our fourteen product groups and eleven platform groups. The FinOps Engineer III will serve as a leader of this practice, establishing vision and strategy, while ensuring cost efficiency continues beyond our FY27 Cost Reduction Program.This is a hybrid role based out of our office in New York City, NY,CrowdStrike is establishing a FinOps practice to drive sustainable cost management across our fourteen product groups and eleven platform groups. The FinOps Engineer III will serve as a key technical contributor in this practice, implementing cost optimization solutions and building the technical foundation for our cost management capabilities.PLEASE NOTE: This role is hybrid, requiring 2-3 days per week on-site at one of the posted locations.What You'll Do:Technical ImplementationDesign and implement automated cost monitoring, alerting, and optimization solutions across cloud platformsDevelop and maintain cost allocation algorithms and tagging strategies for accurate cost attributionBuild integrations between cloud billing APIs and internal cost management systemsCreate technical documentation and best practices for cost-efficient infrastructure patternsCollaborate with platform teams to implement cost optimization recommendationsEngineering ExcellenceDevelop tooling and automation to support FinOps processes across fourteen product groups and eleven platform groupsBuild dashboards and reporting mechanisms for real-time cost visibilityImplement cost guardrails and automated policies to prevent cost overrunsDesign scalable solutions for cost data collection, processing, and analysisContribute to the TechOps Analytics Data Solution FinOps requirementsCross-functional CollaborationPartner with product engineering teams to identify and implement cost optimization opportunitiesWork closely with Infrastructure Foundations Program to align technical solutions with FY27 Cost Reduction ProgramSupport FinOps Working Group with technical expertise and implementation guidanceCollaborate with Data Analytics Team on cost data pipeline developmentProvide technical input for FinOps capability development roadmapContinuous ImprovementResearch and evaluate new cost optimization tools and techniquesContribute to FinOps governance structures and technical standardsMentor junior engineers on cost-conscious engineering practicesStay current with cloud platform pricing changes and optimization opportunitiesWhat You'll Need:Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field5+ years of software engineering experience with focus on cloud infrastructureStrong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languagesDeep hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and their cost management toolsExperience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.)Proficiency with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog, etc.)Understanding of containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practicesPreferred Qualifications:FinOps Certified Practitioner certification (or commitment to obtain within 6 months)Experience in cybersecurity or SaaS industryBackground with commitment-based discount programs (Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, CUDs)Experience with data pipeline development and ETL processesFamiliarity with cost optimization tools (CloudHealth, Cloudability, etc.)Knowledge of database optimization and performance tuningKey Competencies:Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailAbility to translate business requirements into technical solutionsExcellent communication skills for collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersSelf-motivated with ability to work independently in an emerging practice areaPassion for building efficient, scalable systems#LI-LY1Benefits of Working at CrowdStrike:Market leader in compensation and equity awardsComprehensive physical and mental wellness programs Competitive vacation and holidays for recharge Paid parental and adoption leavesProfessional development opportunities for all employees regardless of level or roleEmployee Networks, geographic neighborhood groups, and volunteer opportunities to build connectionsVibrant office culture with world class amenitiesGreat Place to Work Certified™ across the globeCrowdStrike is proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
