Job description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.ABOUT THE TEAMConnected Warfare is the team at Anduril dedicated to the modernization of the command-and-control systems of U.S. and Allied forces. New technologies and adversaries demand a novel approach to battlefield intelligence, and you will be the driving force behind the integration of cutting-edge edge computing technologies that make that a reality. Such systems inherently require both electrical and mechanical components and we are looking for highly skilled engineers to own the design of electromechanical subassemblies on these tightly integrated products. Your work will not only create new products but also help to change the balance of defense capabilities on a global scale.WHAT YOU'LL DO:As a Senior Electromechanical Engineer, you will play a critical, hands-on role in bringing our advanced defense products to life, demonstrating significant ownership and technical leadership. Your responsibilities will include: Lead System Integration: Drive the comprehensive integration of power, control, and harnessing subsystems into robust, finished products, ensuring seamless functionality and reliability. Robust Hardware Design: Design and develop critical mechanical hardware components, including durable enclosures, innovative electronics packaging solutions, efficient bus bars, and complex cable assemblies built to survive extreme conditions. Harnessing Expertise: Deliver conceptual and detailed harness routing schemes, define optimal mounting strategies, and implement best practices for reliable and maintainable electrical interconnects. Cross-functional Technical Partnership: Collaborate closely with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to implement, rigorously test, and validate complex electromechanical systems throughout their lifecycle. Collaborative Innovation: Contribute actively within a dynamic, high-performing product development team, fostering an environment of rapid iteration and technical excellence. Direct Mission Impact: Travel to field exercises and work directly alongside warfighters, providing critical product support and gathering invaluable feedback for continuous improvement. Full Product Lifecycle Ownership: Iterate on your designs from concept to production, partnering with our manufacturing team to ensure efficient documentation, build processes, and successful delivery at scale. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: 5+ years of professional engineering experience specifically in electromechanical integration, hardware design, or systems engineering within a relevant industry (e.g., defense, aerospace, automotive, robotics). Demonstrated expertise and a proven track record in successfully integrating electrical components into rugged mechanical assemblies, with examples of past designs. Extensive experience with cabling design, wiring harness integration, and managing electromechanical interfaces for products designed for extreme or military-grade use cases. High competence with, and fluid application of, engineering first principles across disciplines, including but not limited to: thermal management, structural integrity, material science, power distribution, and signal integrity. Proficiency with CAD software and the ability to produce high-quality, manufacturing-ready engineering drawings that adhere to industry standards. BS, M.Eng, MS or PhD in an engineering field (e.g., Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics). PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience selecting, specifying, and integrating ruggedized and MIL-spec connectors (e.g., D38999, ITT Cannon, Amphenol). Deep familiarity with common electrical interfaces and communication protocols (e.g., USB, CAN, Ethernet, RS-485/232, SPI, I2C). Strong understanding and practical experience with EMI shielding, EMC best practices, and robust signal integrity design. Competency with 3D CAD harness routing tools (e.g., NX Electrical Routing, SolidWorks Electrical, CATIA Electrical). Advanced understanding of enclosure design, material selection, and manufacturing processes for various environmental protection levels. Well versed in ingress protection (IP) standards (e.g., IP67, IP68) and practical methods to achieve them in product design. Proficiency with Siemens NX and Teamcenter PLM for design and data management. Hands-on prototyping experience including machining, shop tools, welding, soldering, and board assembly. Practical experience with electrical engineering tools (Oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters). Experience with power systems, battery management systems, PCBA design, controls, robotics, and/or motor/servo drive systems. WHY YOU'LL LOVE WORKING HERE: Direct & Meaningful Impact: Your engineering prowess will directly contribute to protecting those who serve, working on projects with critical national importance. Cutting-Edge Challenges: Engage with complex, first-of-their-kind engineering problems that push the boundaries of current technology. High Autonomy & Ownership: Take significant ownership of projects and systems, with the freedom to innovate and see your designs through from concept to deployment. Collaborative & Expert Team: Work alongside a highly skilled and passionate group o
