You can review the additional job description section on postings for documents that may be required.Prior to submitting your application, please review and update (if necessary) the information in your candidate profile as it will transfer to your application. Job Title:Physician – Pulmonology & Critical Care Division, Lung Transplant Physician (Open Rank/Track Faculty)Department:The Division of Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine is seeking a dynamic academic Pulmonary/Critical Care physician at the Assistant, Associate, or Professor ranking with expertise in Lung Transplantation.  The Division is comprised of a comprehensive team of physicians and staff focused on delivering high-quality patient care, contributing as academic leaders through scholarship and discovery, and educating medical students and postgraduate trainees. The position strongly emphasizes critical care medicine and outpatient pulmonary medicine and affords opportunities in sleep medicine. The position will be located on The Ohio State University's main campus. The Division of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep MedicineThe Division of Pulmonology, Critical Care, and Sleep, led by Division Director Dr. Jeffrey Horowitz, boasts a broad array of clinical opportunities with sections of general pulmonary and critical care medicine, transplant pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine, and interventional pulmonary medicine that are complemented by clinical, translational, and basic research, and substantial educational opportunities. The Division has experienced substantial growth in clinical operations and its research enterprise over the last five years, and the reputation for excellence attracts outstanding physicians, educators, investigators, and trainees at one of the most comprehensive health sciences campuses in the nation. We offer state-of-the-art facilities and a diverse patient population. The Division prides itself on its breadth of basic science, translational and clinical research, and our specialized clinical programs that educate future doctors. RequirementsFellowship trained in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine with advanced training or experience in Lung TransplantationBoard Certified/Eligible in Adult Pulmonary DiseaseBoard Certified/Eligible in Critical Care MedicineAn active research program in basic, translational, clinical, or health services research is desirableQualify for academic appointment at The Ohio State University – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experience.Faculty DefinedClinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research. ​Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor, or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.​Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, research associate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years.
