Become a part of our caring community The Lead AV Engineer is responsible for defining, governing, and evolving enterprise audiovisual (AV) engineering standards across meeting spaces, broadcast environments, and collaboration platforms. This role serves as the technical authority for room design, acoustics, AV infrastructure, and lifecycle strategy—ensuring scalable, reliable, and high-quality user experiences across Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro, Neat, and telephony-integrated environments.Key ResponsibilitiesMeeting Room Design Standards & EngineeringDefine and maintain enterprise meeting room design standards, including room profiles, layouts, and technology configurationsEstablish and govern standard build matrices across room types (huddle, conference, executive, training, broadcast)Lead design reviews for new builds, renovations, and complex AV deploymentsEnsure consistent experience across collaboration platforms and standardized room profilesAcoustical Standards & Environmental RequirementsOwn acoustical standards including reverberation control, noise isolation, and speech intelligibility targetsDefine requirements for lighting, room geometry, and environmental controls to support high-quality AV performancePartner with real estate, construction, and workplace teams to embed AV requirements early in design and build processesAV Equipment Portfolio & Platform StrategyOwn the approved AV hardware portfolio (cameras, microphones, DSPs, displays, control systems, peripherals)Drive standardization and certification across Neat, Zoom Rooms, Teams Rooms Pro, and integrated AV systemsEstablish platform standards for QSC ecosystems, DSP architectures, and control system frameworksEvaluate emerging technologies and drive roadmap evolution across AV hardware and software platformsLifecycle ManagementDefine and manage hardware and platform lifecycle strategy including refresh cycles, EOL/EOS planning, and risk-based replacementMaintain portfolio health, standardization targets, asset governance, and capacity planning inputsPartner with finance and procurement to align lifecycle plans with budget and long-range strategyRelease Management & Change ControlEstablish and govern AV release management processes (firmware, platform updates, configurations, integrations)Validate compatibility across platforms, devices, and room configurations; prevent regressions and service interruptionsPartner with operations to ensure controlled deployment and production stabilityBroadcast Technologies & High-Production AVLead architecture and standards for broadcast, streaming, and high-production AV environments (studios, auditoriums, executive broadcasts)Define requirements for cameras, audio processing, lighting, switching, and encoding technologiesEnsure systems support enterprise-scale live events and executive communicationsVendor Relationships & ManagementServe as engineering lead for vendor and integrator relationships, ensuring alignment to enterprise standards and outcomesDefine technical requirements within RFPs and SOWs; validate vendor designs and enforce adherence to standardsEstablish strong vendor management practices including performance tracking, SLA governance, and continuous improvementDrive commercial and technical accountability across AV vendors to optimize cost, quality, and delivery executionTelephony & Collaboration IntegrationAlign AV room strategy with enterprise telephony and meeting platformsEnsure seamless integration across Zoom Phone, Teams Phone, and room systemsDrive consistency in user experience and interoperability across platformsUse your skills to make an impact  Required Qualifications8+ years of experience in AV engineering, collaboration technologies, or enterprise AV designDeep expertise in AV system design including audio, video, DSP, and control systemsExperience with Zoom Rooms, Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro, and Neat devices in enterprise environmentsStrong understanding of acoustics, environmental design, and meeting room performance optimizationExperience with QSC platforms, DSP architecture, and control system integrationFamiliarity with ACPR standards and enterprise AV design frameworksExperience leveraging AI-based capabilities for AV monitoring, automation, or enhanced meeting experiencesStrong vendor management and stakeholder alignment skills in enterprise environmentsPreferredExperience designing broadcast or production-grade AV environmentsIndustry certifications (CTS, CTS-D, or equivalent)Experience leading AV lifecycle, standards governance, and enterprise-scale deploymentsAdditional InformationWhy Humana?At Humana, we know your well-being is important to you, and it's important to us too.
