If you're ready to drive change and make history, apply now!What you’ll do Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following: The Manager of Indirect Purchasing Services and Materials is responsible for sourcing and managing contracts with external service providers for Scout Motors' Indirect Purchasing teams. This includes information technology, marketing, engineering services, & commercial operations commodity groups with an annual procurement budget up to $1 billion. As the manager, you will oversee a team of buyers, developing strategies and policies for procurement. It is important to have a strong understanding of the business concepts, practices, procedures, and goals of each business area. Your role will involve extensive planning and goal accomplishment, requiring experience and judgment. You will lead and direct the work of others, fostering a creative and collaborative environment. The role offers considerable flexibility and the opportunity to make strategic decisions. Lead a team in developing and executing compliant purchasing strategies in cooperation with Scout business units to maximize negotiated outcomes in areas of Information Technology, Marketing services, engineering services, commercial operations, and other non-production requirements. Work hand-in-hand with the Scout team to identify the right supplier partners, including participating in pre-souring audits to confirm acceptability of new suppliers Evaluate and apply technical changes as requested, ensuring that cost, quality and delivery objectives are met Support in the development of specifications, bid terms and contractual language for competitive bid processes according to the Scout purchasing standards. Ensure documentation of sourcing activities and decisions via Scout internal purchasing system. Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Responsibility to ensure business continuity by purchasing goods and services at the best possible quality, price and timeliness. Review and approve buyer sourcing projects, either for final approval or for presentation to corporate sourcing committees as required. Review and approve Purchase Orders and Contracts according to Scout policies and procedures. Build team environment in an effort to achieve goals and objectives as set forth by Scout Motors, Inc. Evaluate and assess individual buyer performance as well as vendor performance Establish and maintain relationships with Business Units and suppliers to aid in determining the most appropriate and cost efficient solutions based on business needs Location & Travel Expectations: This role may be based out of the Scout Motors corporate headquarters in Charlotte, NC. This role requires 4-5 days per week in the office, with regular in-person meetings and events. Applicants should expect that the role will require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time. Here's what else you'll bring: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in business or a relevant field. 10+ years of purchasing experience, specifically in developing and executing automotive production procurement strategies in indirect procurement. 5+ years of experience in leading and developing high-performing teams. 5+ years of industry experience. · Demonstrated passion for leadership and fostering team development. Proven track record of building and maintaining vital stakeholder and supplier relationships. Experience in managing supplier performance. Comprehensive knowledge of automotive, manufacturing, or related industries. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels. Proactive mindset, taking the initiative and managing multiple workstreams. Entrepreneurial spirit and a drive to create something new. Ability to think creatively and find innovative solutions to complex problems. Collaborative approach, working as a team to achieve ambitious goals.
