Job DescriptionThis role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business if more than 3 days]. The RoleBusiness Management Data AnalystCore IT is seeking a strong Business Management Data Analyst to support its continued transformation into a more data-driven, insight-led organization. This role will focus on business management activities across forecasting, budgeting, management reporting, and governance. The position requires someone who can bring together data from multiple source systems, turn it into meaningful insights, and help the team make better business decisions. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical capability, sound business judgment, and the ability to understand executive-level needs and translate them into clear business requirements, reporting solutions, and actionable recommendations across teams.What You’ll DoSupport Core IT business management activities across forecasting, budgeting, governance, and reportingCombine data from multiple source systems to create a clear and consistent view for analysis and decision supportAnalyze financial, operational, and business data to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and recommended actionsTranslate executive-level questions and business needs into clear analytical requirements and business recommendationsPartner across business, finance, IT, and operational teams to align data, assumptions, and prioritiesDevelop reports, dashboards, and visualizations that improve transparency and support stronger business decisionsHelp define and improve business requirements, data definitions, and governance processesUse tools such as Power BI, automation, AI-enabled solutions, and big data platforms to improve insights and efficiencySupport cross-functional initiatives by connecting detailed analysis to leadership-level decision-makingDrive continuous improvement in how business management data is collected, structured, analyzed, and used across the organizationYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field5+ years of experience in a relevant analytical, financial, or business management roleStrong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize data from multiple systems and sourcesExperience supporting forecasting, budgeting, financial analysis, management reporting, or governance activitiesAbility to understand executive-level requirements and translate them into business requirements, analysis, and decision supportExperience working with reporting and visualization toolsStrong communication skills with the ability to explain complex data and insights in clear business languageProven ability to work across teams and build strong cross-functional partnershipsExperience with process improvement, automation, or AI-enabled solutions that improve business outcomesStrong attention to detail, structured problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesWhat Can Give You a Competitive Advantage (Preferred Qualifications)Master’s degree in Business, Finance, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related fieldExperience supporting business management activities within IT, technology, or shared services organizationsExperience working with large, complex datasets and enterprise source systemsFamiliarity with governance processes, financial planning cycles, and executive reporting practicesExperience defining business requirements for data, reporting, or workflow improvementsKnowledge of automation tools, AI solutions, and modern analytics practicesExperience working in highly matrixed environments with multiple stakeholdersAdvanced skills in Power BI, data modeling, dashboard development, or business intelligence solutionsThis job may be eligible for relocation benefits.Compensation: The expected base compensation for this role is: $106,600 - $135,000. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position. Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance. Benefits: GM offers a variety of health and wellbeing benefit programs.
