Job Description SummaryWithin the Türkiye Technology Center (TTC), the Additive Technologies team develops design, analysis, and production techniques using powder bed fusion additive manufacturing methods. We are looking to hire a long-term manufacturing engineering intern for up to 11 months, with an initial 6-month period and an optional 5-month extension, to be employed in our laboratory. Additive Manufacturing Engineering Intern will be responsible for supporting our team in design and manufacturing development studies and facilitating shop/team operations in the areas listed below. The working location for this role is Gebze/Kocaeli.Job DescriptionSite Overview:GE Aerospace has an advanced engineering center located in İstanbul, Kartal, complemented by cutting-edge laboratories in Kocaeli and Gebze. Our offices in İstanbul and Ankara provide essential support to commercial and defense engines across the country. Our highly skilled engineers at the Türkiye Technology Center contribute to GE Aerospace’s engineering work on indigenous programs, new engine programs, software development, and additive manufacturing, supporting the country’s position as an advanced aerospace hub. Join us and find an opportunity to shape the future of flight.Role Overview:General operation and organization of the Additive Manufacturing Technologies laboratoryMaintenance and preparation for production of additive manufacturing machinesOrganizing and tracking work proceduresSupporting post-processing operations such as machining and measurement after additive manufacturingThe Ideal Candidate:Who are eager to develop themselves in additive manufacturing technologies, have strong engineering knowledge, and wish to shape their career as a production engineer.Required Qualifications:Studying in mechanical, mechatronics, metallurgy, manufacturing, and similar engineering departments at universitiesMust remain enrolled as a student throughout the internship period; preference given to third-year undergraduate students or master's degree studentsProficient in EnglishHigh sense of responsibilityStrong analytical thinking skillsBasic knowledge in process improvement and root cause analysisPart time working during the academic term (minimum 3 days a week) and full-time work during the summer termWilling to learn, with good communication and teamwork skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in manufacturing technologiesKnowledge of the working principles of additive manufacturing machinesProficiency in CAD programsExperience in the production fieldAt GE Aerospace, we have a relentless dedication to the future of safe and more sustainable flight and believe in our talented people to make it happen.
