Because when it comes to animal health, no one sees it like we do.Our Animal Health division is seeking a highly motivated individual as a Maintenance Mechanic in the Maintenance and Engineering Department at our Worthington, Minnesota Manufacturing site. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment, utility systems, and buildings needed for the testing, manufacturing, storage, and packaging of Animal Health Vaccines and related materials. The successful candidate shall perform general maintenance, mechanical, and electrical troubleshooting on equipment systems, and will also need to be experienced with controls within the plant and the facility. Responsibilities also include performing preventative maintenance on assigned equipment and participating in the on-call rotation.Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Direct involvement in the overall maintenance, inspection and repair of highly technical equipment, facilities, and utilities in a biopharmaceutical Industrial/Manufacturing environment.Possess a fundamental understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics and mechanical drawings to solve problems in a timely manner at the component level on all manufacturing equipmentAbility to troubleshoot AC/DC Electrical components (up to 480VAC 3 Phase) including motor starters, switches and sensors found on manufacturing equipment using basic test equipment such as multi-meters and amp probes.Mechanically inclined with the ability to work with hand tools, power tools, machine tools, and test instruments.Ability to perform routine preventative maintenance functions, audit PMs, and task lists, giving feedback on improvement ideas and ensuring all parts list are accurateAssist with completion of team workload as scheduledCoordinate and prioritize assigned daily workloadEnsure major issues are recorded and communicated to Maintenance Lead/ManagementEnsure issues and temporary repairs are escalated to Maintenance Lead/Management to ensure plans to fully resolved are in processPractice safety and support team safety awarenessCommunicate effectively on shift and to the Maintenance team to ensure any support requests are filledPerform other duties as assignedThis position requires varying environmental conditions, such as: indoor/outdoor work, varying temperatures along with secondary gowning, entering coolers and freezers, hearing conservation areas (annual audiograms required).Willingness to participate in the on-call rotationPersonal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required per Safety Policy. Examples of required PPE are: Arc Flash rated clothing and PPE, safety glasses, safety shoes, work gloves, respiratory protection, etc.Resolving machine and system issues in some cases under aseptic/clean room conditions Education:High School Diploma/ GED or Technical Trade School Diploma Required:Must be willing and able to get boiler operator’s license within 1 year of employmentAbility to read and interpret blue-prints/schematicsValid driver’s licenseMust be able to meet all physical requirements associated with this job, including but not limited to: lifting/carrying up to 50lbs; working from ladders and elevated platformsExperience working with OSHA general industry standards including hot work and lockout tag outExperience with the use of computerized systems and software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook and WordParticipate in the current on-call rotationApplicants should actively support, participate and embrace an empowered team culture and have excellent communication skillsApplicant should have previously demonstrated strong team skills, flexibility, motivation, ability to troubleshoot/problem solve, with a strong emphasis around safety and compliance practicesPreferred Skills Or Certifications But Not Required:Minnesota Boiler license. (Not required to be hired, is required if hired. Our company to provide training as necessary to assist with successful obtainment).Experience with building management systems/softwareMaintenance experience with pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical equipment and facilitiesAssociates degree in a Technical discipline, preferably in Industrial Maintenance Technology or MechatronicsExperience with lyophilization equipment or processesExperience working with H2O systems that produce WFI,EP, and DI water for production consumptionRefrigeration experience with low temp freezers, blast freezers, air conditioning systems, or chillersExperience with equipment including Autoclaves, Glass washers, Bioreactors, Steam in place systems, etcBiotech / pharmaceutical GMP manufacturing industry experience#MSJRWe offer a comprehensive package of benefits.
