Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.The Senior Array Software Technical Product Manager is a market-facing, commercially focused technical product leader responsible for the product strategy, roadmap, and commercial success of Illumina's array software portfolio — DRAGEN Array, DesignStudio, and legacy array informatics tools.This role sits at the intersection of Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customers, ensuring that our array software products resonate with enterprise life sciences customers and drive measurable business impact. The ideal candidate brings experience in life sciences software or genomics, strong exposure to enterprise customers, and a proven ability to translate customer and market insights into detailed product requirements and go-to-market execution.Key ResponsibilitiesProduct Strategy & Roadmap OwnershipOwn the end-to-end product roadmap for DRAGEN Array, DesignStudio, and legacy array softwareDefine product requirements based on customer needs, competitive landscape, and business objectivesPrioritize features and capabilities in collaboration with engineering, balancing customer value against development cost and timelineDrive product lifecycle decisions — launch, iteration, deprecation, and end-of-life planningPartner with Engineering to ensure roadmap decisions align with commercial impact and market readinessMarket & Customer LeadershipAct as the voice of array software customers, representing customer needs, workflows, and buying driversLead Voice of Customer (VoC) efforts including customer interviews, field engagement, advisory boards, and win/loss analysisDevelop and maintain customer personas, buyer profiles, and use-case narratives across array segments (e.g., genotyping, pharmacogenomics, polygenic risk scoring, biobank)Partner closely with Sales, Customer Success, and Field Marketing to identify commercial gaps, expansion opportunities, and adoption barriersPositioning, Messaging & DifferentiationOwn product positioning, value propositions, and messaging for the array software portfolioTranslate complex technical capabilities into clear, compelling, customer-centric narratives tailored for enterprise buyers and decision makersLead competitive analysis and market intelligence efforts across the array informatics landscape; identify actionable differentiation and competitive response strategiesInfluence product strategy by clearly articulating market problems, unmet needs, and commercial opportunitiesGo-to-Market Strategy & ExecutionDefine and drive go-to-market strategies for new array software launches, major releases, and platform capabilitiesEnable Sales and Customer Success through sales plays, enablement materials, demos, pricing/packaging input, and objection handlingSupport enterprise deals including customer briefings, RFPs, technical/commercial narratives, and executive presentationsDrive adoption metrics — monitor usage, identify barriers to adoption, and execute programs to increase customer engagementCross-Functional CoordinationConnect the Arrays business unit and array workflows to all relevant software tools across the SWI portfolio — including Orchestration, Cloud Platform, Multiomics, Oncology Interpretation, and Genetic Disease Interpretation — ensuring array customers benefit from the full breadth of Illumina's software capabilitiesCoordinate with regulatory/quality on compliance requirements for clinical array applicationsAlign with other software TPMs on shared platform capabilities, infrastructure dependencies, and portfolio-level strategyRequirementsTypically requires a minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experienceStrong analytical skills requiredStrong verbal and written communication skills requiredAbility to present complex ideas and information clearly and succinctly in a group settingDemonstrated knowledge and experience in requirements gathering, development & scrum product owner roleKnowledge of the full software development life cycleKnowledge of genotyping, microarray technology, and array-based analysis workflows preferredKnowledge of genomics analysis software and pipeline creationDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a complex fast-paced environmentKnowledge of user experience design in developing software solutions with exceptional usabilityExperience with variant calling, imputation, polygenic risk scoring, or pharmacogenomics analysis is a plusPrior programming experience a plusKnowledge of data engineering/data networks is a plusExperience working in an ISO:13485 or FDA regulated (QSR) environment is a plus#LI-HYBRID #LI-REMOTEThe estimated base salary range for the Sr Software Technical Product Manager - Arrays role based in the United States of America is: $118,200 - $177,200. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. The range reflects long‑term growth in the role; therefore, most candidates are hired between the minimum and middle of the range. Placement depends on experience, skills, location, and internal equity. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part
