From crafting permitting roadmaps and managing studies and fieldwork to ensuring compliance with federal and state programs. Your work will make a measurable impact. You’ll collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders on siting, mitigation, and reporting, while senior specialists drive strategy, negotiate commitments, and oversee budgets, and mid-level specialists prepare applications, coordinate surveys, and maintain compliance trackers. Every day brings new challenges, opportunities to innovate, and the chance to accelerate the energy transition.Your work will challenge you, and with our Core Values to guide you, you’ll quickly learn and grow with us.Responsibilities/Expectations:Develops, maintains, improves and provides guidance on environmental processes/policiesAssesses environmental risk, provides recommendations to address risk and participates in or runs the approved course of action, including required regulatory documentationCoordinates regular environmental planning, scheduling and cost estimating, including preparation of environmental impact assessmentsProvides guidance and mentorship to others and is involved in industry associations and environmental communitiesLeads projects or programs with significant risk and complexity to achieve objectives; develops the strategy for project execution and handles resource requirementsOther duties as assignedEducation/Years of Experience:Environmental Specialist IV:Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum eight (8) years’ environmental experienceEnvironmental Specialist V:Required: Bachelor’s degree and minimum fifteen (15) years of multifaceted environmental experiencePreferred: Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in environmental soil and groundwater assessment and remediation at CERCLA (Superfund) and RCRA sitesOther Requirements:Demonstrates excellent organizational/interpersonal skills and safety as the utmost priorityProficiency in Microsoft Office Applications and PC skills #LI-GC1#LI-GC1About PittsburghPittsburgh is a city full of adventure.
