Job DescriptionHarborview Medical Center - Admitting has an outstanding opportunity to hire a Patient Services Specialist Lead.WORK SCHEDULE100% FTE (40 hours per week)Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, SundayVariable ShiftPOSITION HIGHLIGHTSProvides leadership, training, and workflow support to Patient Services Specialist staff in a fast-paced healthcare environmentSupports patient flow, front desk operations, and delivers exceptional customer service to patients and familiesCoordinates patient registration, insurance verification, referrals, and communication with care teams to support seamless patient carePRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvide leadership, training, and workflow support to Patient Services Specialists staff Assign, monitor, and audit work while communicating feedback to leadership Support patient registration, admissions, discharge, and front desk operations Obtain and verify demographic, insurance, and financial information Ensure completion of required consents, financial agreements, and patient documentation Coordinate patient care, referrals, medical records, and interpreter services Schedule appointments, triage incoming calls, and support patient flow activities Maintain accurate patient information in the Epic electronic medical record systemPerforms PSS 2 duties and takes on additional responsibilities in the Supervisor’s absenceREQUIREMENTSHigh school graduation or equivalentThree years of Patient Support Service experienceEquivalent education/experience may substitute for stated requirementsABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTERAs the region's only Level I Trauma and verified burn center, Harborview Medical Center is a comprehensive healthcare facility owned by King County and operated by UW Medicine.
