Academic rank and track commensurate with academic record and experience.Position OverviewThe Division of Cardiovascular Medicine seeks a board-certified/ board-eligible cardio-oncologist at the associate professor or professor rank, with an extramurally funded clinical or translational research program to lead an elite team of academic physicians. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership in both clinical care and research initiatives, leading the Division's Cardio-Oncology Section with a focus defining the mechanisms underlying cardiovascular toxicity of oncologic treatments, advancing preventative care, and managing cardiovascular complications from therapy. Responsibilities will include expanding outpatient and inpatient consultative services in routine and complex cardio-oncology care in our world-class facilities at the Richard M. Ross Heart Hospital and the James Cancer Hospital, and Solove Research Institute, advancing cardio-oncology research, and mentoring junior faculty and trainees.The Ohio State University Division of Cardiovascular Medicine is setting new standards for advanced heart and vascular care through our internationally and nationally recognized experts of more than 60 cardiology and vascular medicine specialists. We offer heart and vascular patients some of the most exciting and innovative technologies, treatments, and clinical trials, many of which are only available at Ohio State. Most of our faculty are principal investigators on various research projects in both the basic, translational, and clinical research settings.Requirements- Board Eligible/Certified- Successful completion of a US-accredited cardiology fellowship- Eligible for an Ohio License- Clinical and Extramurally funded research desirable- Qualify for an academic appointment at The Ohio State University – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experienceThe Division of Cardiovascular MedicineThe Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, comprised of over 60 cardiologists with focus areas to include: general cardiology, interventional, electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure, heart transplantation, mechanical circulatory assist, pulmonary vascular disease, women’s cardiovascular disease, cardiac MRI/CT, and cardio-oncology. The Division is affiliated with the Ross Heart Hospital, which ranked as “Best Hospital” in the top 50 in the nation as reported by US News and World Report.   In addition to the 60 cardiologists, there are six fellowship programs: core cardiovascular medicine fellowship, interventional cardiology fellowship, electrophysiology fellowship, heart failure and cardiac transplant fellowship, adult congenital heart disease fellowship, and cardiovascular diagnostic imaging fellowship. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms.
