Job Title:Physician – Otolaryngology, Facial Plastics and Reconstructive Surgeon (Open Rank/Track Faculty)Department:The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon to join our nationally ranked team. This is an outstanding opportunity to build a diverse practice and work within an exceptional division that currently comprises three facial plastic surgeons, a nurse practitioner, and a fellow.The Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is a nationally recognized leader in ear, nose, and throat (ENT) care, combining advanced clinical services with academic excellence in research and education. As a distinct academic department within the Ohio State College of Medicine, it offers comprehensive diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management for a full spectrum of otolaryngologic conditions affecting adults and children.Committed to delivering exceptionally safe, high-quality, value-based care, the department has earned national distinction — most recently rated among the top ENT programs in the United States by U.S. News & World Report.The department’s clinical expertise spans general and specialized ENT care, including allergy and immunology, audiology and hearing disorders, facial plastic and reconstructive surgery, sinus and skull base surgery, head and neck cancer treatment, pediatric otolaryngology, sleep apnea management, and voice and swallowing disorders. It is supported by state-of-the-art facilities, including the Ohio State Eye and Ear Institute, the James Cancer Hospital, and outpatient clinics serving central Ohio.In addition to exceptional patient care, the department plays a vital role in training the next generation of otolaryngologists. Its educational mission includes instruction for medical students, residency training, and eight fellowship programs across multiple subspecialties within Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery. A strong emphasis on research drives innovation in both basic science and clinical practice, resulting in numerous publications and contributions to advancements in the field.Together, through multidisciplinary collaboration, cutting-edge technology, and a patient-centered approach, Ohio State’s Department of Otolaryngology continues to improve health outcomes and enhance quality of life for individuals with ENT disorders. RequirementsSuccessful completion of Facial Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship programBoard Certified or EligibleEligible for State of Ohio medical licenseQualify for an academic appointment at the assistant or associate professor level – Academic rank and salary will be commensurate with previous training and experienceFaculty DefinedClinical faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with titles of assistant professor-clinical, associate professor-clinical and professor-clinical. These faculty will have earned a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degree in the relevant field. Clinical faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of three to five years. They may be reappointed to successive terms. Their principal career focus is the delivery of exemplary clinical care, and may include teaching, and/or research.Tenure-Track faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of assistant professor, associate professor,or professor who are eligible for tenure or who have obtained tenure. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD), Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) or other terminal degree in the relevant field of study. Their primary career focus centers on research, service, and teaching. Tenure-track faculty with MD, DO or MD/PhD degrees may also be involved in clinical care.Research Faculty (regardless of rank) - Persons with the titles of research assistant professor, researchassociate professor, or research professor. These faculty will have earned a doctorate (PhD) or other terminal degreein the relevant field of study. Research faculty members are not eligible for tenure and are appointed for terms of one to five years.
