Our community is a close-knit group of remarkable individuals driven by intellectual inquiry, a commitment to social justice, and a shared dedication to making a difference in the world.RequirementsJob OverviewThe Program Officer (PO) is essential to the effective and efficient administration and operations of the Initiative on Catholic Social Thought and Public Life and to the support and execution of its mission.The PO works closely with the Initiative’s Director, Associate Directors, and Projects Manager in carrying out the Initiative’s mission and programs and managing the Initiative’s finances, logistics, and communications around programming, particularly through their work as the lead writer on all external communications and as the primary host of all major Initiative events. S/he serves as the primary officer in the planning, coordination and execution of, and follow‐throughs on, most aspects of the Initiative's programs and events in consultation with the Director, Associate Directors, delegating to the Initiative’s Projects Manager as necessary in the performance of his/her responsibilities. The PO is a key strategic leader in the Initiative’s Salt and Light Gatherings, including planning, promotion, programming, moderating, and related tasks. Working closely with the Projects Manager, the PO oversees and manages the Initiative’s Latino Leader Gatherings in consultation with ICST’s leadership. S/he supervises the Projects Manager, including managing and overseeing the PM’s administrative, outreach, and communications work. Oversees financial planning and budgeting for strategic initiatives, ensuring resources are allocated effectively to advance the Initiative’s mission. While working in consultation with the Initiative’s senior staff, the PO exercises significant autonomy and responsibility in decision-making and project delegation, ensuring that all programming aligns with the Initiative’s broader long-term objectives and that all communications and public interactions meet the Initiative’s standard of excellence.The PO is responsible for devising, tracking, and following through on metrics for the growth of ICST's audience and network of potential participants for its Public Dialogues, Salt and Light Gatherings, and in coordination with the Projects Manager, Latino Leader Gatherings. The PO is also the primary coordinator of outreach efforts locally and nationally to identify and engage new audiences and high-profile collaborators for these programming areas.Work InteractionsThe PO reports to the Initiative Associate Director for Engagement and works closely with the Director, Associate Director for Strategic Initiatives, and Projects Managers. S/he supervises one of the Initiative’s Projects Managers.Requirements and QualificationsRequirements:Bachelor's degree. 5-7 years of professional or management experience in a related area.Knowledge of and commitment to Catholic Social Thought.Exceptional written and oral communications skills;A demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a complex, multi‐faceted environment;Experience with event management;Experience working with vendors and partners from a variety of international backgrounds.Proven skills in time management, organization, and communication;Self‐starter disposition with ability to work independently on projects;Strong organizational skills;Ability to exercise discretion and maintain grace under pressure;High degree of organizational and administrative ability and project management skills;Ability to manage many tasks simultaneously while meeting deadlines efficiently;Detail‐oriented;Proactive and team‐spirited disposition, with ability to consult and make decisions;Collaborative work style and ability to receive feedback with a willingness to respond to an evolving set of priorities. Expertise in programs within Microsoft Office Suite.Preferred: Advanced degree.Work Mode DesignationThis position has been designated as Hybrid 2.
