It involves designing, deploying, and enhancing platform architecture with a focus on security, cost-efficiency, and operational excellence. The work directly impacts the technological framework that supports organizational objectives and customer solutions.Job Responsibilities:Design and deploy platform services to improve infrastructure performance, security, and cost-efficiencyOptimize existing platform services to efficiently handle core data workloadsCollaborate with engineering, data, and product teams to advance platform capabilitiesImplement automation and operational improvements to enhance developer experienceEnsure robust platform architecture through practical engineering solutionsParticipate in code review sessions to ensure the quality and security of code and configurationTriage and remediate alerts from service monitoring and security eventsWork within an Agile environment to streamline processes and increase productivityAlso responsible for other duties/projects as assigned by business management as neededEducation and Work Experience:Bachelor's Degree plus 3 years of related work experienceOR advanced degree with 1 year of related work experienceOR combination of education and experience deemed equivalent (Required)Acceptable areas of study include Computer Science or Related Field (Preferred)4-7 years Developing and deploying platform services with a focus on automation and operational excellence (Required)4-7 years Collaborating with engineering, data, and product teams in an Agile environment to advance platform capabilities (Preferred)4-7 years Optimizing infrastructure for performance, security, and cost-efficiency in a cloud environment (Required)Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Agile Methodologies - Expertise in applying Agile practices and principles to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of software development projects. (Required)Technical Leadership - Ability to lead platform engineering teams, providing technical guidance and support in a dynamic environment. (Required)Problem Solving - Strong analytical skills to solve complex technical issues and optimize platform performance and security. (Required)Collaboration - Effective in working cross-functionally with various teams to enhance platform capabilities and achieve business goals. (Required)Security - In-depth understanding of cybersecurity principles to safeguard platform integrity and data privacy. (Required)Cloud computing - Knowledge of cloud services and architectures to support scalable and secure platform solutions, AWS highly preferred. (Required)Automation - Skilled in automating processes to enhance platform efficiency and reduce manual workload (Preferred)Experience with any (2) of the following languages: Go, Java, Scala, Python, JavaScriptLicenses and Certifications:Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA): Certification that validates the ability to design, build, configure, and expose native cloud applications for Kubernetes, an essential skill for platform engineers working with container orchestration. (Preferred)AWS Certified Solutions Architect: Certification demonstrating proficiency in designing distributed systems and applications on the AWS platform, which is crucial for optimizing platform services in cloud environments. (Preferred)Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) An advanced-level certification for IT pros serious about careers in information security, focusing on managing and securing corporate environments, aligning with the security aspects of the role. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee’s eligible earnings in the prior year. Certain positions in Customer Care are eligible for monthly bonuses based on individual and/or team performance.
