Job DescriptionWork Classification:Hybrid: The successful candidate is expected to report to Milford, MI three times per week, at minimum, or as dictated by the business.The Team:The Mechatronics Infrastructure Software Team enables GM’s Software Defined Vehicle platforms by driving the delivery, integration, and release of foundational software across programs and builds. We work across software, calibration, integration, validation, and program teams to make sure the right content gets where it needs to go on time and with quality.This is a fast-moving environment where execution matters. The team works across multiple build events, milestones, and stakeholders, and success depends on tight coordination, strong follow-through, and clear ownership.The Role:We are looking for a Software DRE to own software delivery coordination across SDV Mechatronics Infrastructure programs. This role will work closely with SWILs, the calibration team, software teams, and key stakeholders to ensure software content is tracked, aligned, released, and delivered on time with quality.You will be responsible for coordinating software delivery, tracking timing and milestones, pulling part numbers, managing readiness across builds, and ensuring all required content reaches the right destination at the right time. This role serves as the single point of contact for software delivery issues, status, and escalation paths across the program.What You’ll Do:Own software delivery coordination across SDV Mechatronics Infrastructure builds and program milestonesWork closely with SWILs, calibration teams, software teams, and stakeholders to align delivery plans, dependencies, and readinessTrack software timing, milestones, part numbers, release content, and key program deliverables across buildsEnsure all required software artifacts, approvals, and delivery items get where they need to go on time and with qualityServe as the primary point of contact for software delivery issues, status, risks, and escalationsCoordinate across teams to identify gaps, resolve blockers, and maintain alignment on build progress and release readinessSupport issue tracking, status reporting, and milestone reviews with clear, accurate communication to stakeholders and leadershipMaintain delivery plans, schedules, and documentation to support execution, traceability, and follow-throughPartner with SWILs and other technical leads to troubleshoot delivery and integration issues as neededDrive strong execution discipline across multiple parallel builds in a fast-paced environmentYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related technical field5+ years of experience in software integration, build management, release coordination, DRE, or project execution rolesStrong project management and execution skills, including schedule tracking, milestone management, risk identification, and issue follow-upExperience working across cross-functional teams in software delivery, integration, or automotive development environmentsFamiliarity with software build processes, release workflows, integration frameworks, and version control systems such as Git or SVNStrong attention to detail and ability to track multiple moving pieces across programs, builds, and delivery eventsStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide clear status, drive closure, and escalate effectivelyAbility to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong ownership mindset and follow-through to ensure commitments are completed with quality and on timeWhat Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field8+ years of experience in software integration, build management, release execution, or program delivery coordinationExperience working with SWILs, calibration teams, software release processes, or infrastructure software organizationsFamiliarity with automotive software delivery, part number management, program timing, and milestone trackingExperience supporting software builds across multiple programs or large, distributed engineering organizationsProficiency in Python, C++, or JavaExperience driving issue resolution and maintaining execution discipline across complex technical programsStrong leadership presence and ability to coordinate across teams without losing detail or urgencyWho Thrives Here:People who love execution and know how to keep complex software deliveries movingEngineers who are highly organized, detail oriented, and strong at tracking issues to closurePeople who can manage timing, content, milestones, and risks without losing sight of qualityTeammates who communicate clearly, push for alignment, and keep stakeholders informedIndividuals who take ownership, stay on top of details, and act as a dependable single point of contact in a fast-moving environment This role is categorized as hybrid.
