From raw sheet metal to final assembly, our manufacturing engineers and operations teams are transforming our facilities through the adoption of innovative technologies that support GM’s all-electric future.The RoleIf you are interested in supporting the future of General Motors propulsion products — including engines, transmissions and electric drive unit systems — the Global Artisan Innovation Center (GAIC) GPS Machine Shop Scheduling team offers an exciting opportunity.This position is a cross-functional role that supports Product Engineering, GAIC GPS Operations, Manufacturing, and other partner organizations involved in part fabrication and processing within the GAIC GPS Machine Shop. The role requires a basic understanding of part flow through machining operations, along with the ability to manage scheduling priorities and provide day-to-day coordination support. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently within established policies and procedures while escalating unusual issues as needed.What You’ll DoManage the schedule and priority of requests for the Machine ShopCoordinate with stakeholders across multiple teams and organizationsProactively follow up on submitted requests to clarify missing or incomplete informationSupport part fabrication and processing workflows within the GAIC GPS Machine ShopAssist with miscellaneous coordination and administrative support tasksApply accuracy and sound decision-making in a fast-paced, cross-functional environmentRequired Qualifications2+ years of experience in a business environment; machine shop or component manufacturing experience preferredHigh level of analytical ability, communication, and interpersonal skills to build strong working relationships and resolve issues effectivelyDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and assignments with a high degree of autonomy and accountability for resultsStrong ability to prioritize work and deliver assignments on timeAbility to navigate complex projects, people, and situationsWorking knowledge of EMS and related processesProficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPointPreferred QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a business, engineering, or related fieldWorking knowledge of scheduling and reporting tools such as Power BI, CTMS, SharePoint, Power Automate, and Excel macrosUnderstanding of manufacturing processes such as turning, milling, grinding, and heat treatmentExperience providing administrative support for project management activities, including maintaining timelines, schedules, reporting, capacity charts, EMS, and EVOS schedules GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.
