We were meant to fly.Avio Aero is looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join the Military Design Engineering team, focusing on engine components manufactured through additive technologies such as DMLM, including heat exchangers and structural parts. The role involves design, certification, and production support activities, with end-to-end responsibility for the component, including design validation, testing, certification, and entry into service.Job DescriptionEssential ResponsibilitiesCapture system requirements, flow-down to components definition identifying relevant validation needsIssue technical documents relative to the components design according to engineering policies and procedures (drawings, presentations as well as analysis reports)Contribute and participate as a presenter in technical and program reviewsDevelop components and modules design to cost, performance and life objectivesProactively support and coordinate activities with manufacturing departments and Suppliers to implement product improvements (eg concurrent design, cost-out activities).Drive the design phase toward component certification, including the submission of certification reportsSupport source technological substantiation and non-conformances assessmentSupport activities related to development findings, components performance and investigations (test requests, test data postprocess, laboratories investigation)Qualification/RequirementsMaster’s Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical EngineeringFundamental understanding of mechanical design (static, strength of materials, dynamics etc.) Basic knowledge of additive components design, preferably using DMLM technologyBasic knowledge of component certification requirements, for example per FAA CFR14 part 33.91Good interpersonal and communication skills.
