And together, we must leverage the strength of our team to collaborate globally to optimize connections and share best practices across the Tech Centers.Role OverviewAs a member of our central Data & Analytics team, you will design, deliver, and govern enterprise-grade analytics platforms and reusable data products that accelerate decision-making across the Pharmaceutical Commercial domain. You will translate business needs into scalable, secure, and compliant architectures while championing standards, reuse, and platform adoption across the organization.What will you do in this roleDefine and maintain enterprise reference architectures, standards, and reusable patterns across data ingestion, storage, processing, modeling, serving, and visualization.Drive platform-level technology decisions that maximize reuse and minimize duplication across sub-domains.Design canonical data models, shared data products, and semantic layers enabling consistent analytics and standardized enterprise metrics.Build reusable ETL/ELT pipeline patterns, metadata catalogs, and data quality frameworks ensuring consistency, lineage, and trusted reporting.Partner with domain leaders, data stewards, and functional teams to align analytics roadmaps and prioritize capabilities; support governance forums on data standards, ownership, and definitions.Ensure appropriate governance for sensitive customer and patient-adjacent data — privacy, consent, auditability, and access controls — in line with internal policies and applicable regulations.Provide technical leadership to platform engineering and integration teams; define NFRs, SLAs, support models, and runbooks.Establish centralized monitoring, observability, and incident response coordination.Evaluate emerging technologies and drive innovation through pilots in customer intelligence, decision intelligence, AI-assisted insights, and modern data products.What should you havePrimary Skills : Databricks, AWS, Data analytics, Data Platform , Commercial data ecosystemsBachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.10+ years in data/analytics architecture or engineering; 5+ years in solution architecture.Deep expertise in enterprise data architectures: data lakes/lake houses, ELT/ETL, streaming, semantic layers, and canonical modeling.Expert-level Databricks — Delta Lake, Unity Catalog; strong AWS (S3, Redshift, Lambda, IAM).Proficiency in Python and SQL; working knowledge of Spark, Kubernetes, Airflow, and CI/CD via GitHub Actions.Experience implementing data governance, metadata management, lineage, data quality, and access-control frameworks.Familiarity with Commercial data ecosystems: CRM, omnichannel platforms, market and sales data, customer master, and third-party data providers.Knowledge of privacy and compliance considerations for customer and HCP data.Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills; ability to influence without direct authority.PreferredExperience in a central platform or enterprise data team supporting multiple business units.Familiarity with model-driven analytics, recommendation engines, and decision intelligence.Cloud architect, TOGAFWho we areWe are known as Merck & Co., Inc., Rahway, New Jersey, USA in the United States and Canada and MSD everywhere else.
