Gilead’s therapeutic areas of focus include liver diseases, infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases and cancer.In the context of new pipeline opportunities in HIV as well as a portfolio of hospital anti-infective products, we are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated professional with experience across multiple brands and areas in the pre-launch and post-launch settings.About the role:The Senior Medical Manager will focus on developing and executing the medical strategy for HIV in Australia and will be a well-organised and insight-driven results-oriented person.This role requires close collaboration with national and international colleagues from within Medical Affairs and the extended cross-functional team. This role involves targeted field engagement and works primarily with HCPs.Key Job Responsibilities:Develop and execute Medical Affairs activities and scientific projects based on the medical strategy and Plan of Action, in close collaboration with other cross-functional team members.Develop effective working relationships as the medical expert with cross functional teams.Develop and conduct insight-driven medical education and communication activities in accordance with identified learning needs, including digital, face-to-face, and print.Provide strategic support for local Medical Affairs publication planning.Provide medical leadership to plan and execute Medical Affairs Advisory Programs and provide support as needed to cross-functional HCP advisory boards.Present scientific and clinical data in a variety of different settings to support the safe and effective use of Gilead products.Lead the medical and scientific review of local promotional materials.Work collaboratively and cross-functionally with Gilead personnel in European affiliates, Global Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Marketing, Market Access, Sales, Regulatory Affairs, Drug Safety, Public and Government Affairs.Partner with the clinical operations team to provide scientific support to trial sites and ensure sharing of insights.Serve as internal scientific expert in the therapy area, healthcare landscape, and data on Gilead and competitor medicines.Represent Gilead with the external multidisciplinary scientific and HCP community.Develop above-country networks to ensure sharing of key insights, ideas and resources.Identification of actionable insights from external stakeholders including advisory boards and market research.Knowledge and Skills:Advanced scientific or clinical degreeMinimum 5 years experience in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry preferredDeep understanding of complex HIV ecosystemsExperience in pre-launch and post-launch settings; HIV knowledge preferredDemonstrated understanding of patient journeysEstablished relationships with HIV networks desiredStrong Medical Affairs acumenStrategic thinking and ecosystem shaping capabilityLeadership in matrix teamsStrong analytical, communication, and influencing skillsAbility to work autonomouslyAdherence to regulatory and compliance requirementsWillingness to travel domestically and internationallyGilead Leadership Commitments:I Am Bold, I Care, I Listen, I Trust, I OwnCommitment to Diversity and Inclusion:Gilead Sciences is committed to building a diverse workforce and inclusive environment, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
