The platform connects order orchestration, route execution, real-time tracking, and delivery status updates to provide customers, stores, and delivery teams with greater visibility and control. By reducing uncertainty across the delivery journey, the team helps improve customer confidence, operational efficiency, and successful delivery outcomes.Job SummaryLowe’s Commerce Solutions is looking for a highly motivated and dynamic Senior Engineering Manager to lead engineering teams responsible for designing, building, and scaling modern enterprise-grade platforms and products. The ideal candidate is a strong technology leader with deep expertise in system design and architecture, a passion for innovation, and the ability to adapt quickly to emerging technologies and changing business needs.This role requires a balance of technical leadership, strategic thinking, execution excellence, and people management. The candidate should be capable of driving engineering best practices, mentoring high-performing teams, collaborating cross-functionally with product and business stakeholders, and ensuring delivery of scalable, resilient, and high-quality solutions.Roles & Responsibilities:Partners with the product team to help inform the priorities within a set of products, applications,and/or servicesManages software engineers who design, build and maintain solutions within a set of technologyproducts and/or services; oversees the translation of business requirements and functional specificationsinto logical program designs, code modules, stable application systems, and software solutionsEnsures the alignment, buy-in, and support of diverse stakeholders by building and maintaining trustingrelationships with internal customers, third-party vendors, and senior managementResolves escalated issues throughout the development, configuration, and modification of integratedbusiness and/or enterprise application solutionsCreates and/or leads the creation of SOPs, KPIs, and overall operationalization of assigned services orapplicationsHires, trains, and develops talent for growth opportunities; monitors team/individual’s morale andengagement to maintain highly effective and collaborative environmentsControls project risks by analyzing and identifying trigger events, establishing response and contingencyplans and recommending ways to mitigate future risksManages the completion of systems integration testing (SIT) and responsible for ensuring that useracceptance testing (UAT) is completed successfullyProvides input for departmental budget and forecasting, and manages expenses associated withinitiatives within scope of responsibilityResponsible for the development, implementation, maintenance, support and scalability of robust,reliable and secure business and enterprise software solutionsPartners with engineers and architects to ensure optimal technology solutions are built by theengineering teamEnsures the alignment, buy-in, and support of diverse project stakeholders by building and maintainingtrusting relationships with internal customersInfluences and establishes best in class engineering practices through solid design decisions and toolsCoordinates the estimation and execution of plans, schedules, and resource forecasts for the services orapplications in his/her scopeManages multiple services or applications and provides resources in support of the applications byleveraging partnerships with technology teams, vendors, and business leadersLeads team through all technology solution development phases by ensuring team understands andadheres to company methodology, policies, standards, and controlsProvides leadership to the team by attracting and hiring talented individuals, setting goals andcommunicating clear expectations, providing timely and constructive feedback as well as meaningfuldevelopmental opportunities, managing performance, providing resources and support as needed, andsponsoring and leading team members through changePrimary SkillsStrong expertise in System Design and Software Architecture.Experience designing scalable distributed systems and microservices-based platforms.Strong understanding of cloud platforms. (Good to have)Expertise in modern backend technologies and APIs.Strong knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies.Experience with high-availability, performance optimization, and scalability engineering.Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.Excellent people management, mentoring, and team-building capabilities.Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.Knowledge of observability and monitoring tools.Some understanding of Front end technologies (Good to have)Secondary SkillsExperience with AI/ML-driven systems or modern intelligent platforms.Exposure to retail, commerce, enterprise, or SaaS platforms.Experience with security and compliance best practices.Strong communication and presentation skills.Ability to work in fast-paced and evolving environments.Minimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in computer science, computer information systems (CIS), or related field or equivalent years of experience in lieu of education requirement, if applicable8 years of IT experience8 years of experience in software engineering or related field8 years of experience working on project(s) involving the implementation of software development life cycles (SDLC)3 years of experience leading project or technical teams with or without formal direct report responsibility; this includes experience providing te
