Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into data-driven solutions, working across a variety of structured and unstructured data environments. This role spans multiple experience levels, with scope and complexity increasing based on experience and ability to solve more ambiguous problems.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Analyze large, complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunitiesDevelop, test, and deploy statistical and machine learning models to solve business problemsTranslate business questions into analytical approaches and actionable insightsCommunicate findings through data visualization and clear storytelling to influence stakeholdersPartner with cross-functional teams to define requirements and deliver data-driven solutionsPerform data preparation, cleansing, and feature engineering across multiple data sourcesWrite, maintain, and deploy code to support analytics and modeling solutionsApply sound judgment and follow best practices related to data governance and risk managementLevel Expectations:Data Scientist I: Applies foundational knowledge to well-defined problems, working with guidance while developing technical and business expertiseData Scientist II: Works independently to solve more complex and ambiguous problems, designs end-to-end solutions, and influences outcomes through deeper stakeholder partnershipRequired Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or related) or equivalent experienceKnowledge of statistical methods, data analysis, and modeling techniquesExperience working with data in academic or professional settingsPreferred Qualifications:Experience with Python, SAS, and SQLExperience working with Snowflake or similar cloud data platformsStrong data manipulation, querying, and analysis skillsExperience working with large, structured and unstructured datasetsFamiliarity with machine learning techniques and model developmentGeneral Description of Available Benefits for Eligible Employees of Truist Financial Corporation: All regular teammates (not temporary or contingent workers) working 20 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits, though eligibility for specific benefits may be determined by the division of Truist offering the position.
