This is not just app development - this is platform engineering for AI-native enterprise systems.From enabling secure AI access to legal systems of record, to designing governed interfaces for intelligent agents, your work will directly impact how legal work gets done at Visa.What You’ll Build:GenAI Platform & Agentic WorkflowsArchitect and evolve the MCP Control Plane - the central layer governing all Legal GenAI interactionsEnable AI systems (e.g., Harvey AI and future agents) to securely interact with enterprise legal data and toolsDesign agent-ready APIs, SDKs, and contracts that make GenAI capabilities reusable and scalablePower end-to-end agentic legal workflows, such as:Matter intake automationLegal invoice reviewIP portfolio analysisRegulatory reportingLegal research and policy Q&AGovernance, Security & ScaleBuild robust capabilities for:Policy enforcementAuthN/AuthZ and secure access controlAudit logging and traceabilityRate limiting and workload isolationMulti-environment deployment (dev/test/prod)Ensure all GenAI interactions meet Visa’s high bar for trust, compliance, and governancePlatform Engineering ExcellenceEstablish MCP as a true internal product, with strong versioning, backward compatibility, and developer experienceDesign and implement connectors/adapters for legal systems of recordDrive architecture for high scalability, resiliency, and observabilityWhat You’ll DoDesign, build, and scale mission-critical applications supporting Corporate Legal and Non-AML ComplianceLead end-to-end engineering, from system design and coding to test automation and production supportCollaborate closely with Product, TPMs, and business partners to shape AI-driven solutionsMentor engineers and elevate engineering practices across the teamRun POCs to explore emerging GenAI technologies and rapidly validate new approachesInfluence architecture decisions and help define the future of AI-enabled legal platforms at VisaThis is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in the office will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.  Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.QualificationsBasic Qualifications:5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.Preferred Qualifications:6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhDExpertise in Python, JavaScript, NoSQLAt least 3 years of experience building applications on one of the modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, Node JS or ReactExperience in developing and architecting large-scale, production-grade applicationsExperience in developing and implementing AI systems and algorithms is a plusExperience with agile development incorporating Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, utilizing technologies such as GIT, Maven, and JenkinsAbility to create wireframes and responsive designs that result in a great user experienceExperience in NoSQL such as MongoDB and Cassandra or in PostgreSQL.Enjoy working fast and smart, and able to grasp complex concepts to design and build algorithms from scratchStrong interpersonal, facilitation, and leadership skills along with effective communication (both written and verbal) skills and the ability to present complex ideas in a clear, concise wayAbility to work in a complex organization to determine business and customer needs, providing the best solution to meet those needsStrong teamwork focus and the ability to foster collaboration within and across teamsPassionate about learning and applying new technologies and takes pride in delivering working softwareU.S. Applicants OnlyThe estimated salary range for this position is $131,600.00 to $ 210,300.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location.
