The role sits at the core of project execution—owning defined workstreams, leading analyses end‑to‑end, and contributing meaningfully to client-facing deliverables while mentoring junior team members.Performance Analytics consultants focus on leveraging Mastercard and client data, advanced analytical techniques, and enterprise analytics tools to support strategy, performance improvement, and operational decision-making.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Delivery & Analytics ExecutionIndependently execute complex quantitative and qualitative analyses with limited oversight, including unfamiliar or ambiguous problem statementsTranslate business questions into structured analytical approaches and clearly document methodology, assumptions, and implicationsSynthesize analytical outputs into clear recommendations and client-ready narratives (slides, dashboards, readouts)Own day-to-day execution of assigned analysis workstreams, including task planning, prioritization, and quality controlPerformance Analytics ExpertiseLeverage Mastercard data assets and client data to design and scale analytical solutions that drive client impactApply advanced analytics techniques using enterprise tools and platforms such as Python, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Impala, NiFi, and related data environmentsIdentify opportunities to codify and automate repeatable analyses, improving efficiency and scalability of delivery Client & Stakeholder EngagementInterface confidently with junior to mid-level client stakeholders, explaining complex analyses in simple, decision-oriented languageProactively identify risks, dependencies, and next steps, escalating appropriately to Project Managers or Engagement Leads Demonstrate strong understanding of the client’s business context, priorities, and industry dynamics Team Leadership & Firm ContributionAct as a mentor to junior consultants —reviewing work, guiding analytical approach, and reinforcing best practicesContribute to knowledge management, solution development, and firm initiatives beyond immediate project workCollaborate effectively with Product, Data Engineering, and other A&CS practices to enhance client solutionsSkills & CapabilitiesAnalytical & Technical SkillsStrong analytical problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently on complex datasets Hands-on experience with data analysis, modeling, and insight generation using modern analytics tools and languagesAbility to balance rigor with pragmatism (effective 80/20 judgment) when delivering under time or scope constraintsConsulting & Communication SkillsClear, structured communication—written, verbal, and visual—especially when explaining technical insights to non-technical audiencesStrong ownership mindset: proactive, detail-oriented, and accountable for quality and outcomesComfortable handling ambiguity and adapting analytical approaches as client needs evolveCorporate Security ResponsibilityAll activities involving access to Mastercard assets, information, and networks comes with an inherent risk to the organization and, therefore, it is expected that every person working for, or on behalf of, Mastercard is responsible for information security and must:Abide by Mastercard’s security policies and practices;Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the information being accessed;Report any suspected information security violation or breach, andComplete all periodic mandatory security trainings in accordance with Mastercard’s guidelines.
