We combine a disciplined investment approach with deep expertise across asset classes to deliver innovative solutions that meet our clients’ evolving needs.We are committed to fostering a culture of integrity, collaboration, and inclusion, empowering our employees to drive meaningful outcomes for clients while supporting long-term growth and innovation.Role OverviewState Street Investment Management (“State Street IM”, formerly State Street Global Advisors) is seeking an Assistant Vice President of Engineering to support the design, delivery, and production support of the Transition Management (TM) & Trading technology platform.This role will be accountable to platform reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency, while enabling efficient execution of Transition Management workflows across asset classes.You will partner closely with engineering leadership, product teams, and business stakeholders to enhance platform capabilities, improve stability, and support ongoing modernization initiatives.Location: BangaloreKey ResponsibilitiesPlatform Development & SupportContribute to the development and enhancement of the Transition Management technology platform, including execution, workflow orchestration, and post-trade processesSupport platform stability, monitoring, and incident management, ensuring high availability and operational efficiencyAssist in the implementation of modern architectures (cloud, APIs, microservices) to improve performance and scalabilityTransition Management EngineeringDeliver and enhance core TM capabilities, including trade execution, cost modelling, analytics, and reporting.Support multi-asset workflows (Equity, Fixed Income, FX, derivatives) with high-performance, scalable systems.Collaborate with business stakeholders to resolve issues and improve execution workflowsEnsure adherence to operational risk, controls, and compliance standards.Automation & Continuous ImprovementIdentify opportunities to automate manual workflows and improve processesSupport use of data and analytics to enhance decision-making and operational outcomesParticipate in adoption of new technologies (e.g., GenAI, automation tools) where relevantDelivery & CollaborationWork closely with team members to support delivery of small to mid-sized initiatives, ensuring quality and adherence to timelinesCollaborate with global engineering teams and cross-functional partnersMentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative and growth-oriented team environmentGovernance & Stakeholder ManagementSupport tracking of platform KPIs (stability, performance, delivery metrics)Provide inputs for status reporting, risk tracking, and stakeholder updatesWork with vendors and internal teams to ensure smooth integration and service deliveryRequired Qualifications12+ years of experience in front-office technology and trading platforms.Strong understanding of Trading workflows and execution processes.Experience driving platform reliability, scalability, and operational risk reduction.Expertise in cloud platforms, microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.Demonstrated ability to work across global teams and cross-functional delivery.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting Trading and Transition Management platforms.Strong background in observability, SRE, and platform engineering models.Familiarity with data platforms, analytics, and automation frameworks.Advanced degree (MBA, MS, CFA, or equivalent) preferred.About State StreetAcross the globe, institutional investors rely on us to help them manage risk, respond to challenges, and drive performance and profitability.
