Job DescriptionHarborview is currently recruiting for a RESPIRATORY CARE INTERN to join our Respiratory Care Team!WORK SCHEDULEShifts AND Hours may varyPOSITION HIGHLIGHTSThe Respiratory Care Intern will report to the Respiratory Care Manager. the Respiratory Care Intern provides Respiratory Care to patients of all ages, (e.g., newborn, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric). Care is provided under direct supervision in all areas of Harborview Medical Center.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvide patient care limited to only those procedures that havebeen completed in the associated Respiratory Care School curriculum prior tobeing done in the hospital patient care areaUtilize the respiratory care process (assessment, planning,implementation and evaluation) to recommend, delegate, coordinate andprovide safe, therapeutic respiratory care to patients;Provide respiratory care consistent with professional practicestandards, HMC policies and procedures, the Law Relating to Respiratory CarePractitioner #18.89 and Federal and State regulations.REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONSCurrently enrolled and in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care Program within by the State of Washington.ABOUT HARBORVIEW MEDICAL CENTERAs the region's only Level I Trauma center, Harborview Medical Center is well known for innovations and excellence in trauma care and its centers of emphasis: Trauma, Burn, Neurosciences, AIDS/STD CARER, and mentally and medically vulnerable populations.
