Job DescriptionUWMC - Montlake Respiratory Care has an outstanding opportunity to hire Pulmonary Function Technologist for their Lung Function Testing Clinic.WORK SCHEDULEPART-TIME30 hours per weekPOSITION HIGHLIGHTSThe role of the Pulmonary Function Technologist is to conduct pulmonary function tests and assist with the operation of the Lung Function Testing department. The Pulmonary Function Technologist works under the supervision of the department Manager.PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIESProvides routine respiratory care (i.e., administration of medical gases, administration of prescribed pharmacological agents, etc.)Proficient in all clinical aspects of patient care (i.e., arterial blood gas punctures, oxygen support).Proficient in all technical aspects of diagnostic equipment and procedures.Coordinates patient scheduling with other departments, physicians, and staff requests.Maintains department policies and procedures.Prepares reports for physician and regulatory body review.Coordinates and schedules technicians for the LFT lab.Demonstrates the ability to troubleshoot and set up pulmonary function equipment.Educates patients, families, and other staff members on pulmonary diagnostic procedures and equipment.REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONSCompletion of a respiratory care program approved by the State of Washington Department of Health OR equivalent education/experience.Legal Requirement - Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the State of Washington1-2 yrs of experience as a PFT or work within a Lung Function Testing department.ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-MONTLAKE Among the top medical centers in the United States, and ranked as the number 1 hospital in Washington State, as rated by U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Hospitals," UWMC prides itself on compassionate patient care as well as its pioneering medical advances.
